At least their DLC is actually worth considering, many other games have shitty content. Complain to Nintendo then, because complaining and fuming about it here won't get a damn thing done. Frikin' hell people are uppity.
Oh, I won't be buying them, but that's not really the issue. We're seeing a glimpse of how Nintendo plans to run things going forward, and it's not pretty. Micro-transactions here, unlocks that require you to buy physical products there, etc and so forth. Seems their golden age of quality and consumer friendliness has passed.

Exactly, no one is forcing anyone to buy anything. If you don't want an aiimbo (which I don't blame anyone for not wanting one), then don't get it. I will agree that they seem pointless and probably very futile. Though Nintendo is just trying to expand their horizons, probably appealing to kids with the figurines and level up the amiibo (like an rpg).

As for content and DLC, I find it's a very big step forward. So maybe the prices are a bit off. But how about you take a look at the PlayStation store and tell me if the prices seem fair there as well (not to mention free Nintendo Network Online). Altogether it is not bad considering Smash 4 is Nintendo's AAA titles and will continue to improve and update in the future.
Nintendo had all the tools to do this with Brawl, and look how it turned out to the community. Nintendo is only taking a step forward and learning through their mistakes.

How the hell have you been saying it?

Like, "Rye-yoo", with the accent on the first syllable. Then the Sm4sh announcer says "Ree-oh", also accenting the first syllable. I'm willing to bet that there's other people with different pronunciations as well. Probably pisses off Ryu to point where he doesn't even correct people anymore...

It would be something like "Ree-ooh" in Japanese, but yeah, a funky name indeed :P

....wait. People actually say it like that? Well, I guess if you've never heard it pronounces correctly before your brain is bound to make something up.

That only applies to English speakers and even then most know the proper way of saying it.

Same goes for Ninja Gaiden, or "Ninja Gay-den" as some used to say.

1. Can I download these and run with my disc smash bros game (or do i have to re-buy the game thru eshop and download to hard drive)?

2. I have the disc smash bros game, is there any method to transfer that to hard drive (so I don't have to re-buy the game in eshop?

Minor issues. Lucas, nothing to complain about, didn't really appreciate his usefulness in Brawl, always favoring Ness. Lucas wins in the down and up smashing department. I still go for Ness first. Roy is great, but I remember in Melee that when you just smash, he swings his sword, keep pressing and it keeps going. Instead here, it's one swing that stops. Everything else feels the same as Melee, which is great.

Ryu though, I'm trying to stay positive, as the one issue I have is he's clunky. I try to stay on the good side by putting him over Ganondorf and slower characters. Does he have custom moves that include a charging Hadouken? His standard one isn't too powerful. Moreso than Fox's laser, but the guy can shoot it continuously. All his smash and special smash moves are sweet, but his movement, kind of clunky, that's the problem. Did he move like he did in SF4? Basically he's like Little Mac in terms of defense and recovery, but Mac has speed. I'll play him on solo, but I don't think I can succeed with Ryu in online play.

The biggest positive out of Ryu that I had, before he was even announced, was that Nintendo would hopefully finally have a port of Street Fighter (3DS doesn't count). V is coming in 2016, so that game, supported with the Wii U Pro, that'd be awesome.

1) Yes. 2) No.

Either disk or digital can use the DLC without issue.

(Up-B)Shoryuken isn't great as a recovery, but (Side-B)Tatsumaki Senpukyaku can give you some amazing horizontal distance.

So far I'm enjoying him, even if he's not my best character. Focus Attach (Down-B) is definitely one of my favorite attacks; can make it short, last long and has super armor for 1 hit.

So does that mean these contents are already on disc to begin with but just locked away until when it's the right time for Nintendo to release them? And when I download these from eshop, what really is happening is that the DLC is just letting me have more access to the stuff in the disc?

Not at all, none of the DLC stuff was on the disc.
All the DLC is in the updates though and the actual DLC you download from the eshop is just a few KB to unlock them.

Not doing this would split the player base each time a new extra character gets released cause each would need their own group of present characters.
