All games I tested which had saves broken can be fixed if you use the "Sram Patcher" option in "GBA Tool Advance" (then, don't forget to change the save-type to SRAM, then first SRAM type in the footer, as the footer program will still detect an EEPROM save type).

( You should remove this link @AmeenX )

Regarding Pokemon games, I have dumped my two French cartridges: Fire Red bootleg and original Leaf Green, and I'm still not able to create a working game from them (I tried with and without patch). Is it possible to know what you did to your rom to make it save as .cia @Riku ? :D

IIRC the 1.0 fire red rom will load but won't save, same for if you sram patch it.

I read somewhere that if you choose a 32K footer for 64K games they might have the save feature working, also someone mentioned using GBA Tool Advance to fix that to change EEPROM to SRAM.

I know it won't save. Riku was able to recover save function on his game, that's why I'm asking him.

PS: In Europe, we have a unique version, no 1.1, and my dump of bootleg fire red is a modified rom, in order to use the sram chip of another GBA game.

If you go on that one iso site there's a patched version that saves.

I saw that, but I'm currently converting all my cartridges and I want to make my own .cia version. For now, I was not able to convert Pokemon FR/LG and Mario Bros. 3.

It's funnier to do it myself :3

Thank you anyway !

Breath of Fire II seems to work fine, it creates a save game before you start a game so I guess it's ok

I used the default footer setting when I run the footer generator
4MB
SRAM, FRAM
Type1
0xC0
