I had one of these, sold it because I ran out of games to play and nothing at the month I sold it showed in the future anything of merit other than Gravity Rush and a pile of lame third person adventure/shooter console cousins/ports.

I've got a chance to buy another for $100 with Uncharted and Hot Shots (2 games I did own of 4) and it's spotless, complete in box, seems to have the accessories kit with the case and memory card from Sony too.

It's enough of a deal I'm tempted, problem is, I can't seem to find a solid list coming forward from today of what to expect to play on it in physical form in the future. Is there a known list of physical releases?

Below is a list of stuff, starred I owned, others I didn't get I could have when I had it, and below the single space are things I think I'd probably buy now taking me up to 20 games of which 16 are potentially new.

Lumines *
Uncharted *
Wipeout
Hot Shots Golf *
Touch My Katamari *
Ridge Racer
Gravity Rush

God of War Collection (gow1+2)
LittleBigPlanet
Sly Cooper Thieves in Time
Muramasa Rebirth
Dragon's Crown
Ys Memories of Celceta
Final Fantasy X
The Sly Collection
Child of Light
Akiba's Trip
Tales of Hearts R
Hatsune Miku Project DIVA F 2nd
Sayonara Umihara Kawase Plus

Does it have the AMOLED screen?
It's the 3G+Wifi system they killed off already. Seems the original owner (ex husband/boyfriend?) who left it with the lady didn't use it much as it just has the two games, spotless, and has just been stored away somewhere.

True that E3 is fairly close, but I'm not really concerned about revisions really. The one I had was stunning up against what the 3DS was capable of and I think that is great too. I still screw around with GBC and GBA original release systems so unless some revision adds the ability to play games the old can not or adds like double the battery power I don't see much reason to get one that's slightly slimmer.

My real concern was future releases is all. I don't want to walk into a limited use situation again is all. The way I see it is that there's like 20 games maybe more or less depending what I missed looking that list up so I just want to validate the buy by having enough to keep busy with it.

well its slimmer, lighter, added 1 hour or so of battery life, micro usb charging, 1GB built in memory, and better rear grips
I'm still holding out hope they add a microsd version (unlikely) or at least better priced memory

I read the screen was not as good which is a shame, that would be a deal breaker for me on the slim version. The micro usb charging would be handy though.

Don't forget about Persona 4 Golden, Disgaea 3 & 4.

Also, I remember Square mentioning if FF X/X-2 HD sold well enough, they'd consider an FF XII remaster on the Vita. (Which would be hella tight)

I'm not into Persona style games, but FFX-X2 I'd most definitely buy. I love RPGs, but myself doesn't love them anymore on TVs, but with a handheld I'll happily keep chipping away at one as I am now on Xenoblade on 3DS.

You need to get Super Monkey Ball Banana Splitz physical copy. It's a $5 game at GameStop and is a rather hidden gem. Word on the internet is that it's going to be a rare title.

I know being referred to as a hidden gem implies it wouldn't be well talked about, but reading about it, it is apparently just another Super Monkey Ball game, just closer to the Gamecube titles. Even then, rarity doesn't necessarily equal value if a hidden gem remains hidden. With that in mind, even if it was only $5, what reason is there to pick it up besides the fact that it may become an uncommon title?

If it is a genuinely great title, I'm more than willing to add another game to my Vita collection, especially if it's an inexpensive one. Considering the other Vita games I'm still looking to get though, even if it's only $5, I need to be able to justify it.

I think most reviews online are quite harsh. I thoroughly enjoyed Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 on GameCube, and this game pays homage to its' roots. This is simply the best Super Monkey Ball game since those first 2 games. For $5, it's totally worth the pick up. I'd rate this 9/10. It's fantastic!

EDIT: Buy it and play it. If you are not satisfied, sell it to me for exact cost you paid. I'm looking for another copy for my cousin so we can play multiplayer.

I would suggest comparing them for yourself. There is very little difference.

HNGG ive never played 12 but I would much rather play that on a hand held than sit in front of a tv for all those hours.

Don't compare the slim screen to the oled. That will just make the slim seem OK. Its a mental trick. You're seeing nice colors on the oled so your mind doesn't crave color when you look at the slim.

Playing on the slim vita is like being in a desert or a hot room. After coming straight out of an air conditioned room or having a cool drink its not so bad. But after a while without respite you may start to get sick of it and want out. Comparing the two side by side is like being in a hot room while periodically sipping an ice cold fruit smoothie. You're tricked into thinking the heat is tolerable, or maybe even pleasant.

The slim screen is just wrong. Don't get it. It objectively displays the wrong colors. If you see a caucasian character in-game on a slim vita, his skintone looks off. A regular human almost looks like a Simpsons character. Or an alien. Its subtle, it's vague, but the more you play the more something will seem amiss. At first I didn't have an oled vita to compare, but I still knew something was wrong with it. I didn't notice it at first. But its undeniable. Don't get it. If you get a slim vita you might as well adjust the settings on your monitor and TV, cranking up the yellow about fifty notches so you can enjoy your beautiful new picture quality. Would you do this? I doubt it.

While the Vita doesn't have a huge lot of games in the west it does however have an enormous back catalogue of games to play from PSP, PS1 and all kinds of emulators that supports it.

Games are something that the Vita definitely has, but developed for Vita? That's a different story.

the japanese store has a huge catalogue too , and they are developed for the Vita , but obviously in japanese -_-
i think the US store is the best store for the Vita , the EU store (and the ones associated with it ) have a tiny catalogue for games , even for demos .

There is nothing wrong with the slim lcd screen, its looks fine barely any different sans the oversatured colors, blotches, and shorter battery life from oled
people are just making a big deal about it because of comparison pictures online without actually using or seeing them in person
Ive used both and you are not missing anything, I'll take the slim and all the extra features over the oled anyday

If it displays the wrong colors, how can you say there is nothing wrong with it?

Another person who can't tell the difference between lying and having an opinion

yea. colors suck

blotches, and shorter battery life from oled
this is not LCD vs OLED. Let's say it was the opposite, let's say the slim vita screen was normal like any other LCD device, while the oled vita had the microwave oven colored screen, instead of the other way around. In my view it would be the same situation--I'd go with the screen that doesn't look like crap. I don't care about what technology is used. If I get better battery life in the process, so be it. To me that's just a bonus. It's like if you asked me, "would you like 1 hour more battery life on your Vita but in exchange I stick peanut butter until all the controls" I wouldn't accept that offer. That doesn't mean I don't care about battery life, it just means I have priorities.

people are just making a big deal about it because of comparison pictures online without actually using or seeing them in person
Wrong. I bought a slim vita from ebay even after seeing the comparison pics.
After about 2 days I realized something was wrong with it, without even owning an OLED vita for comparison. How is this even possible? The slim Vita is junk, that's how. The comparions lead us to think the slim vita is almost as good as the OLED vita, but that's the not whole story.

I ordered an OLED vita the same week I received my slim vita. When it arrived I started taking comparison pics but I realized it is a waste of time. The comparison pics already exist, and they're REALLY DAMN GOOD. But still people still aren't convinced my them. I am a testament to that, seeing as I got a slim Vita even after seeing the comparison pics. So I have to wonder if there might be a psychological flaw to showing comparisons. It's as though the comparisons have the exact opposite effect and make the slim vita seem legitimate. You could probably take a picture of two OLED Vitas at different brightness settings and it would look similar to the comparisons. But in reality the problem with the slim vita isn't that it's less bright or less colorful, it's that the colors are the wrong hue.

Ive used both and you are not missing anything, I'll take the slim and all the extra features over the oled anyday
lol features. What features? Micro usb port. That's feature, not features with an s.
I got a slim Vita for the micro usb port. But you might as well put a micro usb port on a paperweight and say it is better than the oled.
There's also the different size of the rear touchpad and grips, but that's not a feature per se.
Don't get me wrong, I love the form factor of the slim Vita, far superior and more stylish than the OLED Vita. Just not a feature in the typical sense of the word.
Sony should release a slim Vita with a normal screen. Which is what the slim Vita should have been in the first place. You must at least understand the fact that the screen on the current Vita technically shouldn't have ever existed. If Sony released a model revision where everything is green, it's not in our place to say "I actually like the green. So I don't see what the problem is." That's like if I said "I actually liked the OLED blotches. So I don't see the problem." If you think the old model is oversaturated, riddle me this, why didn't Sony just release a screen with less color saturation. Wouldn't that have made way more sense instead of making a screen where everything is urine-colored?

If you post a screenshot of a Vita game on this thread, or direct feed footage on youtube, it should look more or less the same on a Vita, rather than being bathed in yellow when actually played on a Vita. The developers of every Vita game made the colors that way intentionally, it's not in Sony's place to change the colors. If the game makers wanted to make it look like that they would have done so in the first place. Gravity Rush is a good example. The game has a very monochromatic motif, it almost looks like it's being played off a slim Vita even when played on an OLED.

or why not just turn the brightness since that decreases color intensity somewhat

even PSP-3000 let you adjust the color gamut. There was no need to release a broken screen presumably on the hardware level with no way to change it. It would literally have made more sense to release a normal screen with an option to change everything to yellow mode. Sony could theoretically release such a feature right now for the OLED vita to make it "just as good" as the crap slim Vita. Whereas the slim Vita, is probably permanently broken and cannot be fixed with a software update.

For a live comparison, the OP could visit a game store and ask if they have the two models so he doesn't spend any money while he's not absolutely sure which one he'll go for.

Vita "3000" seemed like it'd be great improvement but think it's fake or something so it's not gonna happen.
