im having a problem with the custom design sign pwp, i have 3 of them and whenever i put a design on the standee it's the same design for all 3 i can't select individual designs. i think it has to do with the fact that the design signs are all labeled the same thing in the ram editor? idk
No. All pattern PWPs (signs, standess, etc.) behave exactly the same. The building list has information about X,Y info for every building. Additional info like the pattern used is stored somewhere else (it should be easy to find it though). That info is probably tied to the PWP coordinates. That's why moving them resets them to the first pattern of custom PWPs.

I guess it may be a good idea to disable moving these kind of PWPs until we manage to find how they really work.

I've already tried that a bunch. When I start the game it only ever gets to the loading screen with the train then crashes. Should I try holding it down at a certain time? I've been trying immediately after the 3DS screen stops and the train loading screen begins (since that what the manual says to do). But like I said it just crashes every time.

I'm having the same problem. I've been using these hacks for several weeks now with no problems whatsoever; Today, I was editing a file that I had dumped yesterday, so I time traveled backwards one day and tried to inject my file as usual in the train station. When I came, Isabelle gave the "new day" quote and the game froze in the middle of saving. Since then I've been crashing at loadup, can't get past the rolling train and the ABXY method isn't bringing up any prompt :/

I'm currently getting some help with it, but no solution has been found yet. I've kept trying the ABXY method but yep! Nothing. It's quite disappointing, since the only true solution I can think of is cleaning my SD card and buying a new copy (which I don't wanna do since I've had my copy since release). Hopefully some solution will be figured out and we can both get back! Do you know what you last edited?

I found my issue to be the tree placement I did; I put a big line of trees right next to a cliff (it was the look I was going for) and apparently the game is fickle about placement. Maybe something like that happened?

Interestingly, I had already injected the exact same RAM file successfully earlier - it just caused the next day to load, which I didn't want because I wanted to cut down some bamboo before it grew. That prompted me to TT back to the day that I had dumped that RAM file, in hopes that I wouldn't get "It's a new day!", so that I could cut down the bamboo properly - the next time I injected it was when it crashed :\ so at least for my case, I think that the problem has to do with time travelling in some way, rather than the map that I used.

Sucks that the error seems tied to the game card. I tried opening the game with both no SD card and a backup of my SD card, but both resulted in the same exact error. Buying a new one is only solution I can think of right now as well :\

Actually I tried the same thing too. I've tried ABXY method, changing the RAM file (I have 4+ saves that I've found so far on my computer and none worked), deleting the save through the 3DS settings, and 'cleaning' my SD card and putting new files on it. But nothing has helped. But if you can wait a little while the solution might be found soon. There are some possible other methods for force resetting a game, but we won't know until there's some help.

But the worst case scenario is needing to buy a new cartridge and crossing our fingers on not messing up that one.

Does anyone know how to change the friendship level with villagers? I've noticed they seem to carry over even if you switch them, and there is a spot between species and personality that hasn't been specified to what that is. It ranges from 00 to 01 from what I've seen. But I'm not sure if there would have to be four different ones for each character....(sorry for my english)

I hope you're right! I don't mind shelling out more money for such a great game, but it will be cool if there is an alternate solution after all :P

The 00 or 01 byte you mentioned is the less relevant byte in the villager's identity. Like, if your villager is Buck, the first byte is AD and the second byte is 00, because Buck's ID is 00AD.

I've been looking at happiness information, but the more I look at it, the more it's obvious I'm going to need a villager with high happiness, and the same villager who just moved in to compare, but I have to wait until I get a random move-in in the towns who have space in there. And, I have to rely on the campsite for that.

Is there a way to remove invisible walls? I inject a dream town and paid off all the loans to max out the interior house size, but when I placed a couple of furniture in one of the rooms, there seems to be a couple of spots that i can't put any items on.

Did you backup your save?

Save and quit, then try again to see if the walls are gone. If not, well, try to do it again.

If you don't want to pay the loans, you can edit the room sizes manually.

You can go to the villagers tab and there you'll see the villager's ID number that correlates to their house. So If Nan was 1 on the list, and you wanted to move her house, you'd move villager one. And Honestly, I have more success doing building moves with LeafTools. So if it doesn't work, try Leaftools instead. You'll still need the ID, and you can get that from the ram editor.

You have a tab just next to the building one who tell you which villager is which. It doesn't erase your progress to switch from tab to tab.

Nintendo Fanboy said:
Is the editor capable of editing the furniture in ours and villagers homes?

No, because the furniture information is saved on the RAM, but also elsewhere, meaning that if the two don't match, you can't change it.

You can only change wallpaper and flooring with what you get from the sav dumper.

Marc said he did discover that furniture in rooms in dumped in two places, but he doesn't have the time to work on that.
