I don`t have a problem with them delaying the game, either because they have issues or like Aonuma said because they want to implement more features, but honestly if they don`t show anything at e3 I will be pissed.

I don`t think it will be playable but a new trailer and maybe a developers walkthrough like they did at VMX would be more then enough!

Like CD Project Red did with the Witcher 3 or Rocksteady with Batman AK I don`t mind waiting for quality!

There's no problem for delaying the game. I just don't understand why to show nothing during E3, maybe they'll do a stand alone Nintendo Direct only for Zelda ?

That's fine as long as it is coming. The 2016 is almost here anyway. By the way, he shouldn't say that it would be out in 2015 in th first place. I forgive him but seems that many people like him always say that the game would and delay further ahead like Capcom does. Oh well, I do not have Wii U but I will be getting it after Zelda is here first. No bother for me now.

Guys, many of the Zelda games have been delayed into the next year in the past.

1997: Ocarina of Time delayed to 1998
1999: Majora's Mask didn't come out until 2000
2002: Wind Waker delayed to 2003
2005: Twilight Princess delayed to 2006
2010: Skyward Sword delayed to 2011

And they all turned out great. So we shouldn't be concerned that this has happened again.

2012-2015 :P

Xenoblade X is coming out next month in Japan so that's something they can't dodge releasing on the Wii U. It's bad enough the fucking console has a shit library and even worse is when Nintendo's trying to give their own fans the middle finger.

Blowing things out of proportion since Oct 19th, 2003 :creep: Gimme a break, I think you'd have more fun bashing Nintendo on IGN ;)

because the reason it gets delayed is bugs and issues and not that the team working on it is probably too small cause even at nintendo, businesspeople get to decide on nonsense like this these days

ill be the optimistic poster and assume its delayed for them to work on games closer to finish(or games i wait on)

like splatoon or starfoxU.

or a game i dream of but i see no reason to be this optimistic: metroid

Maybe is if?
Or being future No eXecutable launch game and WiiU title.

Perhaps a cross-platform at best because releasing a AAA game like this exclusively on the Wii U would be a terrible business move. This Zelda game would make the next Nintendo home console have a solid launch library along with other games like, Metroid, F-Zero, Star Fox, EarthBound, Mario Kart IX and Mario Sunshine 2 (or, Galaxy 3 / Mario 64 - Part 2).

hopefully their removing all them lame gamepad gimmicks...just keep the map on it and nothing else.

This'd be ideal for people that haven't bought a Wii U and if the game weren't restrictive to the Wii U then new customers could settle for a Wii U console unit + Wii U Pro Controller. There's still that they'd be required to use the GamePad to access the System Settings and such but if they got friends / family with a Wii U then they could use that one by simply syncing it.

Edit:

It started with the N64 era that Nintendo began going downhill.

Maybe they'll turn the tables with their new hardware devices.

I wonder which way the "we shall make an open world Zelda" pitch/command went. Also if they are the ones stumping up the money do they not get a say?

So they're taking the "it'll be done when it's done, please understand" approach. I'm 100% okay with this.

People, in all probability, the NX won't be released until 2017 or 2018. It was only mentioned so early so people wouldn't think they (Nintendo) were going to stop making dedicated gaming consoles.

The Wii U was mentioned like this (casually) too in 2011.

yup, but it was time for a new console given their usual cycle, and was expected in that time-frame. That and there were more details than just the code-name (cafe) when announced, such as expected release and when to expect playable demos.

This time around, it was mentioned more as a clarification on a different announcement, than an announcement all on its own. This points to a normal 2017 or 2018 release for a new console. Not a certainty, but it is by far the most likely given the current evidence.

Course, that's assuming it's a normal console, and not a 3ds follow-up. That could very well be released next year (given the precedence set by the dsi and dsi XL followed by the 3ds). But a new handheld wouldn't really mean anything to the current topic of the Zelda U game.

If I were working at Nintendo in some sort of advertising/marketing capacity, and I'm not, I'd automatic add 1 year to whichever release date the developers thought was reasonable before making announcements. This way, instead of apologizing for inevitable delays, I could bring awesome news that the game is ready a few months earlier than expected. Of course, I'd still need to provide the illusion that the game was not rushed to market...
Ok, new plan. I'd take the developers reasonable release date prediction and announce the game publicly as being released around 6 months earlier than that. Then, somewhere down the line, I'd announce a fake delay, citing more time needed to make game the best in the galaxy, then apologize for this. Our dedication to creating the best possible game is visible to the public, and they really wouldn't have gotten the game until the original/"delayed" release date anyhow. We all win.
I'll submit my résumé immediately.

I find it ironic that at E3 2011 Zelda U was a highly anticipated potential launch game for the Wii U, and at E3 2016 it'll be a highly anticipated swan song title for the Wii U.

The Zelda HD Experience is not the Zelda U game being discussed here. It was a demonstration of what the Wii U could do. It was said by Aonuma in mid '13 that WWHD was used as a testing ground for them before they began work on Zelda U.
