People who has these games, test them out with the newest v317 revision and update accordingly in the compatibility list.
Please. :P

  • Backyard Football
  • Freekstyle
  • GT Cube
  • Hitman 2: Silent Assassi
i have them and they all still do 1.5-2x speed since no timers were found for them yet.

But if my theory of removal of the HID setting causes all the problems and may be adding back a stub setting could fix it in a simple and ease way, why not take a brief look at it.

I asked users who were having issues with their HDD to try toggling the "HID" setting in GX. So far no one has responded except for VinsCool, who says his setup works no matter how the setting is toggled. Until other users can prove us wrong (and I hope they can, because then the fix will be relatively simple) the issue has nothing to do with HID settings

I'd help myself but I've never had HDD problems. What is with these people not helping after all the devs have done?! :hateit:

HID is ignored so it won't affect game booting, Nintendont still have it but hides it in the menu
I even used it to make a new setting "disable HDD pinging"

Resident evil 4 Demo disc still freezes. so adding it to the arstartdma exception list didn't do much.

I wonder why this wont work?

Edit: Freezes with native control on also.

On the unmodified Demo disc after clicking Start you hear a waterfall then it freezes.

I do have the unmodified redump.org verified japanese demo disc and it runs just fine. I dont know which version you have there but it doesnt seem to be clean and/or official which I dont plan to add any support for.

I don't have the Japanese version i have the American version. i guess I'll get the Japanese version then.

Edit: Japanese version does appear to load just fine. Thanks FIX94.

See? This is what I meant with Wiird codes suddenly not working, now FIX's own Button Changer code for Mega Man Anniversary Collection gives me a black screen at the very beginning and gets stuck there. If I disable the code the game works fine. To be even more clear, the code worked wonderfully when FIX posted it here a few days/revisions ago.

Somebody, please, confirm if this issue is only affecting me.

Yeah, that was in response to the guy that is saying that Nintendont needs to comply with GX as opposed to vice versa

I never said Nintendot needs to comply with GX. I said backward compatibility is not to be ignored in good programming
It happened when Nintendont changed that setting and so I came up with a theory. Now Someone studied the code and said the setting is still sitting there as a dummy, then my theory is wrong and case closed but not for reasons that people should not make suggestions.

One example is the case for r229 and 230 where we have to choose backward compatibility and functionality. Decision was made that functionality out-weights backward compatability, so fine.
Did FIX give up? Yes for a time but he still keep that in mind and finally fix it.

I understand, and I think that as much compatibility with loaders as possible is a good thing, but it's been tested and proven previously (apparently on two levels, both by user observation and someone who is familiar with the code) to not have anything to do with HID settings. Anyway, this conversation should have ended ages ago, and my previous response was kind of my attempt at a "subtle" hint at closing it, so lets stop picking at scabs now that we've established that it isn't something that can be fixed without some work from either party

He didn't give up for a time he couldn't reproduce the issue as he didn't have a device that exhibited the issue. Once people donated some affected devices, he was eventually able to track down the issue.

As a programmer, it is virtually impossible to fix a bug if the programmer can't reproduce it. Believe me I know.
