Regarding having 2 drives connected (a Wii U drive and a Wii drive), it seems a lot of apps are not checking Port 0 first, but Port 1 (or are exclusive to Port 1, as I can't get USB Loader GX to work on any other port but that). While it's probably not possible to just ignore the Wii U drive, what about having it start with a different port and circulate through the rest if it finds nothing in the current port (like rather than doing 0-1-2-3, allow it to do something like 1-2-3-0 instead)?
It has to do with the IOS being used as base, IOS58 (used by nintendont) starts checking in different order than IOS56/57, the later are the most commonly used by USB loaders, although you can use 58 as base too, I'm currently using IOS58 as base in ULGX and I had not problem so far, and I don't need unplug my Wii U device anymore =)

its just the loaders fault not nintendont we dont have to adapt nintendont to cfg loader or usbloader gx they need to adapt to nintendont, so why would we redo the code when it works perfectly trough nintendont itself? makes no sence.

Yes and No.
Nintendont was never designed to have a nice GUI and have been telling people to use an external loader. So Nintendont should TRY to stay backward compatible with itself and with loaders. Of course there are times we have no choice but to sacrifice compatibility like adding new options (more to that later).
The Wii homebrew scene is dying, only Nintendont and Usbloadergx is still active but Cyan have complained about lack of free time.

nintendont lost the hid setting wich might confuse loaders which are trying to enable it or disable it, any change to nintendont might break external apps since they need to update their code aswhell.

If thats really the case, can't Nintendont insert a kind of "stub" option in its place and ignore whatever the external loaders sent for this option?

About adding new options in Nintendont:
It was said all loaders delete the Nintendont ini file. I don't really understand the logic.
My idea about it should be: Nintendont loads the ini file, then take the arguments sent from loaders and replace the ones from the ini file one by one and optionally update the ini file (or maybe the loaders should update the ini file depending on if its a global or per-game setting). That way, even if new options are added, they will still take effect (though you have to set them directly from Nintendont first)

Cyan also have a hard time determining Nintendont versions. With Nintendont closing to perfection, isn't it time to sitting down and agree upon a way to do it properly?

Of course, only Devs know how much is remain in their priority list and determine what to do next and it must be way more easy for me to say something than the dev to implement them. Just my two cents.

anybody else start getting a freeze after updating nintendont after rev 306 by pressing start on a gamecube controller to exit to loader?
happens everytime now, not a huge deal. just have to hard press the power to cycle down. or am I doing something wrong now?

also, on rev 309. I'm getting a long delay on a black screen after loading rogue squadron 3. either before or after the credits for the game company at the beginning. I got a power down message once. gonna test starting it up a couple more times.

edit to the above. restarted a few times and always a long black screen after the main dev credits on rogue squadron 3. only got the power down message the one time on r309 here, but the black pause is continuous now before the lucsarts dance intro

seems like rev 309 stops auto load from the official channel. is that just me? this is a good thing!

ok I need to test the levels now. startup is minor. if it all works in game, who cares? right?
always room for later. ;)

edit. revision 309 from the trunk on rogue squadron doesn't produce that power down message at all now from what I can see. but there are a lot delays now. because of the cut-scenes. if you skip them there's a black screen you have to press B again to bypass or it just sits there too. but if you don't skip the cut-scenes even, the loading black screen is long enough to be painful now. was 308 better and did the sonic stuff break this?

You're not on the most recent version; 2.308 should be the one to use.

Old as in not up to date, try the most recent build, 306 shouldn't be used, try 309.

Edit: Still crashing?

Been playing around with cheats lately and I didn't find any problem save for a couple of cheats not working which is expected, keep in mind not every cheat will work but those that do work should work fine.

I am very aware of that fact, that's why on my original post I said:

"I'm reporting this because it's odd these cheats have worked fine for lots of revisions and suddenly started having issues."

It's not like I tried some cheats for the first time yesterday. These are cheats that have worked for over 50 revisions, maybe even 100, and started having issues a couple of revisions back. Didn't report it at first because there have been a few bugs and corrections here and there and I expected the issues to go away with each new revision. Unfortunately, it turns out that's just not the case so I'm wondering if more people are having the exact same issues I'm having.

it was only freezing after I updated and trying to get back to main wii screen by pressing start. I'm on 309 and was since we start this discussion...??? feeling dizzy now @.@ see my edits on my post above about rogue 3

on nintendont version 3.309 and still get these issues though
with all default settings, it always asks me about progressive mode now no matter what game
just tried luigi's mansion too
and rogue squadron 3 has long black screen delays in the beginning and around cut-scenes/end summary screens which makes playing the levels a bit more painful with the scenes.
also, rogue 2 is now broken after main dev credits it errors out to power down message. 3x in a row for me. will keep testing. yup, everytime. no go.
f-zero gx and luigi's mansion play as normal.
though all games still always ask about progressive like it's forcing it though my settings are default.
I noticed it changes from patched kernel...9 to ...11 right before loading now if that matters.
can I grab console logs or something to help you?

if there's something I should delete and it needs to rebuild or something? let me know

whats up with the progressive? lol every game that supports progressive will ask for it i dont see what is your problem with it, the forced progressive setting doesnt change this even if you use force progressive on games that dont naturaly support it, the message wont appear becuase the game doesnt have that message, if that message appeared its becuase the game supported progress naturaly being forced or not.

The message only appears if the game naturaly forced progressive see here, nothing to do with nintendont.

played rogue squaron III for like an hour, did 6 missions and never had long black screens before cutscenes at all, are you using an SD card?the only change is that nintendont now mimics the gamecube disc read speed so nintendont is on porpose slowing down a tiny little thing on loading becuase manny games had issues with the speed being too fast and desynced the music.

Also what are the dev main credits on rogue squadron II and III?

ok weird. no I'm using USB for games and SD for the apps. should I try apps on the usb. I was going to move them over there and try that from homebrew because I saw an option. just that I never got the progressive message on luigi's mansion before, now I do.
maybe I need to clean out the nintendont folder and settings. start over and see what happens?

the main dev credits are at the beginning and say the release year and and all that jargon. right before the lucasarts intro.
this version seems a lot slower on what I have going on than previous versions on rogue 3. rogue 2 doesn't load for me now. I get that power down message at the beginning. just these games though. I'll have to wipe and start clean tomorrow. my dog is being crazy

Have you verified the hashes on the ISO dumps with Redump.org?

do you use shrunken isos?it seems your isos are damaged or corrupted try checking the md5 with redump.

right now im playing rogue squadron 2 and 3 on 309 with no issues no black screen takes more than 2-3 second.

even if you delete everything if you had a component cable or using wiiu with hdmi the message on luigi mansion will always appear becuase the game supports progressive. The only way for that message to not appear if you were using the wii with the default cables that cant output progressive or a game that doesnt support it.

Anyone able to help me? Loading Nintendont on my PAL Wii makes the screen have a red tint to it. I think it's something to do with it being connected via RGB. If I change the video setting to "none" before loading PAL iso's, the red tint goes away when playing the game.

Doing that with NTSC iso's keeps the red tint. There is only the option for forcing NTSC and not PAL in the menu. Is this going to be added in the future?

Here's a picture:

Same problem here. Wii connected via RGB, red screen when the Nintendont GUI loads but, PAL games are always fine for me, only NTSC games cause the red screen, which is normal for a game that is a different region than its own via RGB. Just always thought it was a bit weird that there seems to be no region free patching built in. It could be that it's not possible.

So are Sonic The Fighters and Sonic R still prone to crashing? Oh and I have a lost copy of Smugglers Run Warzones waiting to be ripped and I heard it has serious problems on some GCN loaders....
