I never said that its legal to pirate stuff.

In Germany/the European Union you are allowed to make as many copies of your games/CDs/etc as you like. AS LONG as you don't share them.

In the US you can rely on the "Fair-Use" agreement.

Sorry, i thought you meant downloading stuff too with this.

Untill a few moths ago (In belgium, and the nederlands + some other country's in europe) you could legal download everything from the internet (music, games, movies) as long as you don't share it (outside the family).
Thought you were referring to this.

Sorry

As i said today, i was working on a CIA manager for 3DS to substitute devMenu/BigBlueMenu which are Nintendo copyrighted.

Big Red Menu is the first CIA manager (installer/uninstaller) for 3DS completely legal and opensource.

It's wrote in both C++ and LUA (Heavy edited LPP edition) and ACTUALLY works only AS CIA.
So to install Big Red Menu, you'll require BigBlueMenu or devMenu but, after its installation, you can delete these Nintendo copyrighted tools and starts to use Big Red Menu.

Credits:
Smealum for libctru
Aurelio for helping during the writing of the lua_uninstallCIA code.

Note: Big Red Menu doesn't obscure any System CIA (devMenu for example hides DS_INTERNET and a lot of other NAND CIAs) so PAY ATTENTION when you uninstall NAND contents cause you can also corrupt 3DS NAND -> Brick.

Controls:
A - Uninstall/Import CIA
Y - Import CIA and delete CIA archive after installation
Select - Switch between Imported CIA and SDMC
Start - Exit homebrew

Note that Big Red Menu will list only dirs and CIAs file from SDMC so you'll not lose time finding your CIAs to import.
For ORGANIZ3D users, style might be familiar :P

Sourcecode: https://github.com/Rinnegatamante/Big_Red_Menu/tree/master
Download: Version 1.3
NOTE: Big Red Menu is in a BETA phase so it can contains some bugs, i suggest you to make a backup of your "Nintendo 3DS" folder before using this to stay sure not to lose your CIAs installed and please report me any kind of bugs you find.

Hi,
If I'm on EmuNAND and I delete the CIAs marked with NAND, it will corrupt my sysNAND or just the EmuNAND?

You should fix that.

I'm not entirely sure, but i don't think it is possible.
Because .3ds does not have the am:net am:u rights, and home-menu apps does have these.
Not entirely sure though

I would like to request a feature, if you're open to such requests: Would you be able to add support for launching installed CIA files? The BigBlueMenu/DevMenu can do this, and it's useful for out-of-region CIAs that are installed and do not show up on the home menu, or perhaps for those who would prefer to more quickly scroll through a text list than deal with the icons on the home screen.

I was working on this feature when i was developing v.1.0 of BigRedMenu but it seems ns:s LaunchTitle doesn't work properly.
Maybe it can be done with apt service but i need to do a lot of tests and for now i'm working on ORGANIZ3D v.0.7.

I'm trying to compile BigRedMenu with a modified lua code, but that index.cpp file seems to be generated from index.lua, how did you do it?
Thanks

Is it possible to make a 'pack' feature, to be able to take already installed cia files and pack them into cias?
