Doing such "dangerous" modification can go wrong.

Here are the steps

0) ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR SAVES FIRST
1) Extract your 1131 (EU) or 1132 (US) save with SaveDataFiler
2) Copy the content of your Filer SD folde folder to your computer
3) You'll have 6 files
so far this is what you achieved
4) The files starting with _ are "backups" and you don't need to modify them
5) The 3 remaining files are your save slots, being 0 your first slot and so on
6) Open the file corresponding to the slot you want to modify
7) edit as you like it and save
8) Re-import using DaveDataFiles

Voilá!

Fantasy Life was the very first game where we switched save from EUR to US after we gained access to savedatafiler

I remember when FL came out. The EU came more than a month before the US and I started playing it.
I had progressed much when the US came out and after I learned the saves "could be swapped" I almost freaked out

Then SaveDataFiler came out too and saved us all

I got so excited with the idea of exporting/decrypting/importing that I started this little project.

I know I kind of indirectly asked this before, so I'll go ahead and ask it directly.

My 2DS is already up-to-date, and I have the retail cartridge copy of Fantasy Life... is there anything I can do to use the editor without messing anything up with my system? Literally all I want to do is change my character's name. u_u

nope, max usable FW is 9.2 using ninjhax/gateway.

nope, not yet!
unless you have a copy of one old firmware you console was before 9.4.

As I brought up a bit earlier, there's the new web browser exploit that allows save export/import. It's open source as well.

You want the "sauce" of this editor? I'm actually thinking in making a somewhat bigger application, where you could create and distribute "config files" with fields and offsets and the application would "edit/save" any game save.
