Anyone got a nicely skinned version of this as the included one is ugly as sin, the scrolling NSMB on the game list is awful. Will take a look at doing it myself later tonight when I can get the kids to bed.

Applied the lovely Clearlooks v5 to this and uploaded to Filetrip, ahhh much better.

this doesnt work for me, was this based on v1.74? (made only for the new ez flash version)
flashed back to v1.72 reset clearlooks v5 and it works again

Thats very strange, it is definitely 1.75 and I have an old EZ IV which I flashed this on so I don't think its that.

Did you try the original release of 1.75 from the EZflash team and if so did the issue persist?

As you are the first to say it doesn't work for them i'm more inclined to think it may be an isolated case.

official does the same so i'm assuming it doesnt detect the 2GB minisd in the menu once the new update is applied like some other users mentioned
I'll have to pick up a microsd>minisd adapter to test it though

Just updated my EZFlashIV using the 1.75 Clearlooks posted in this thread. My 2GB MiniSD still works, along with an 8GB MicroSD in an adapter.
I guess I got lucky my MiniSD still works. It is a Transcend brand. Maybe certain brands of MiniSD stop working, but others still work.

I haven't tested a smaller MicroSD card yet, as I dont think I have any that are less 8GB. I'll post if I find one though.

On a side note, This Clearlooks seems to be less polished than the last one I had.

All the description windows have misaligned words.

The "black" model is the new version of the EZ-flash card with microSD (SDHC) slot. The case is more stable, so maybe the old "paper trick" to have better contact, may not be needed any longer. The other technical details are the same like before.....should/will be available "soon"....

I would do some PCB analysis but it appears the chip got sanded and I am not up for a partial search and match right now.

Also wow that is some iffy soldering. Hopefully it is just an early sample rather than production, I may have my own to look at before too long so I will have a look then.

Edit.

The does also look like a Lithium cell, hopefully it is a rechargeable one but I do not recognise the brand.

Where did you buy yours? I was about to solder on a microSD slot onto one of my EZ-IV just for the hassel of not swapping out miniSD adapters every so often.

after doing the update by holding R, I get this screen come up:

and then the screen starts doing stripes until the screen is black and nothing happens. What is wrong does anyone know?

Restart your update again. If the result is still the same, it looks like the memory card is not recognized. Reinsert the card serveral times, it should work again.
