Hardware Is 3D not compatible with all eyes?

It seems that EVERY game I turn the 3D settings on for, ends up looking worse, and I see a double image of everything no matter what angle I look at the screen.

I take it 3D is not compatible with all eyes?

Maybe it needs to be calibrated.

If you have a squint, which is where one eye is either slightly closed or deviates to one side more than the other, you will struggle to ever see 3D.

My right eye is more oval shaped then my left causing this. I always have incredibly slightly double vision.
I got glasses this year to correct this and now I can see 3D a lot more easily without getting a double image.

If in doubt, see if you can get a free eye test at your local optician.

My eyes are spread farther apart than most it seems, because the 3D "leaks" between the two eyes. Apparently it's a lot better with the N3DS though, I was talking with a friend who had the same issue and apparently the N3DS's eye tracking remedied it. It's not entirely split or doubled or anything, it just looks a bit off in the center of the screen depending on the intensity of the 3D slider. I tested it with a homebrew app and parts of the image for the right eye leaked into the left eye and vice versa. No issues with my Rift though, so that's nice.

If you have a "retinal ocular dissonance" then yeah it might not work out well for you. Some people can't see 3d.

Yeah some people cannot see 3D not even in real life ^^V

for my GF the world looks like it is 2D ... more or less ...
She cannot see distances and such thus when she was young she tripped at ever small boarder and whatever.

I remember that we tested out brand new 3D TV at work many years ago, there were few who couldn't see the effect at all, on saw it if he got really close to TV.
So indeed there are people who won't see or doesn't see in stereo as well as others. It doesn't help that 3DS stereo-3D breaks so easily, move device 1 millimeter to either way and you get double image and if you have screen protector on top of screen it get's far worse. Then there are games like VLR which has fake 3D effects which will cause double images and eye strain if you use it and some games cut out effects and antialiasing so it looks worse.

Screen protector doesn't do anything, at least, providing you bought a good quality one and applied it the right way.
