Some of you may know this but Im just going to bring it to attention how well it works. I am using DSVNC to start of with. This is a program for you DS that allows you to VNC into your computer.

DSVNC - Remote Framebuffer client for NDS.
Distributed under the GPL license.

DSVNC is a VNC client for Nintendo DS. VNC is a protocol that allows the client to control the computer that runs the server: the client sees the screen of the server and can control its keyboard and mouse. DSVNC is a client that runs on the DS.

The full remote screen is displayed on one DS screen, scaled down, and then a 1:1 movable display (with the D-PAD) is displayed on the other DS screen.

I am currently browsing GBAtemp while sitting in my living room, ah I love it. I can also view photos and pretty much everything that you could do on your computer (except videos).

You have to run "RealVNC" on your computer to run the server. You can either use the free version, or the other two high end versions. I have the Enterprise

(m yep). Real VNC is available here.

To download DSVNC you need to go here

Once you install your version of RealVNC you have to set it up..here are my settings, that work on my EZ4 Lite Deluxe..

-only listing ones with checks

Desktop Tab
-Do nothing (*)

Capture Method
-Use VNC hooks to track changes
-Poll console windows for updates
-Capture alpha blended windows

Sharing
-Use client's preferred sharing setting
-Non-shared connectiosn replace existing ones.

Inputs
-(all checked except disable local inputs while server is in use)

Connections
-default
Accept connections on port: 5900
Disconnect idle clients after (seconds): 3600
Serve Java viewer via HTTP on port: 5800

Security(important)
-No Authentication
Encryption: Prefer off
Guest login access: Interactive (wont work any other way for me)
Prompt local user to accept connections
Only prompt when there is a user logged on.

DS Side

BEFORE CONNECTING WITH DSVNC MAKE SURE YOUR COMPUTERS RESOLUTION IS EITHER 800X600 or 1024X768. (wont work unless one of those is selected, 1024X768 I find works better)

Now on the DS side once DSVNC is logged on you will get a screen like this.

You need to hover over you VNC icon in your tray of your computer to tell you your IP. Once you have your computers (servers) IP tell that to DSVNC. Quick connect and add are both very similar. After clicking connect it will ask you to only view or do a less RGB color, I reccomend doing the less RGB color, because pages load faster and smoother.

Now it all should be synched up and working.

Browsing on your DS with DSVNC

I am using Opera to VNC with my DS, because it has zoom settings and a small screen setting. You can also use IE or anything else but you have to move all around. My settings on Opera are.
-Small Screen
-90% Zoom

You can set this how you like, you can even take of images and all sorts of things to improve your loading speed. The only thing that I should tell you is that animated GIFs and things really load it down. If you are going somewhere with alot of movements on the screen, make sure images or whatever it is is switched off. Other than that it works wonderful. Beautiful quality pretty darn fast response, not much more to ask for.

Here are some pictures and videos I took of it on my DS and computer.

If you are wondering on my top screen why my overall desktop looks wierd with lines, well I believe its because I have 2 monitors, my lcd and a s-video TV, should look fine on yalls, It doesn't bother me though, its just the appearance it works fine.

I didn't even think of using a VNC for web browsing. I already use VNC's to control my servers in my basement from my laptop. I'm going to try this soon.

By the way, does anyone know if the Nintendo WiFi USB stick works with homebrew?

Wait, wait, it's possible to use the nintendo wifi connector with homebrew? How would I go about turning it into an access point?
It's always been possible, but for some reason the wifilib doesn't play too well with DHCP, so try turning that off (works for me).

Curiously, what resolution is your display? Mine is 1280x1024, and I've heard VNC is laggy with resolutions this big.

Mmm..same error?

Sometimes mine has that type of error but then I redo it and it works. Are you running RealVNC? and when hovering over it are you telling your DS that IP?
