I was too lazy for timing that. I just modified an existing bookmark (Yahoo) to link it to the Gateway site instead.

Yeah I tried all of that and no luck. Browser would not let me bookmark at all, and reloading would just bring me to a white page even after multiple history/cookie wipes. Also did the turn wifi off, restart console, clear hist/cookies, go to site, turn on wifi method and still no go. But the QR code got me in right away. Strange but w/e!

I got a question: Can gateway be used between two 3ds's? I have one 9.2 XL US 3ds and one JP 9.1 New3ds. I know the new3ds is unsupported yet, so if I got gateway setup for my US 3ds, could I then take the card and use it on the new3ds once it's supported? I know we don't know the specifics, but I really just need to know if gateway can be used for two systems. And, if you could use the same Gateway .3ds filled MicroSd card on two systems.

Hmm, there's also the "Initialize Save Data" option. That completely wipes everything like you never opened the browser. Well, as long as you found something that works.

I wish there was a thread specifically for discussion about things you can do with this WITHOUT having Gateway or any other customize-able flash carts.

Can I install and use emunand now without having a Gateway card? Or do we have to wait and hope someone can create a homebrew friendly launcher.dat for us to use?

Oh, boy, I was scared for a second since the select menu didn't work at first, then I noticed it rebooted back to SysNand.

Also my Puzzles aren't showing up either. I didn't even use the coin thingy.

Unfortunately, you can't set different color themes for SysNAND and EmuNAND without unlinking, so, you may want to set parental controls on SysNAND as an extra precaution (get asked for pin, don't update).

I've used the same red card on 3 systems now. It doesn't lock itself to a single system. Move it back and forth all you want.

When installing a .CIA file on 9.2 emunand, I have to unwrap the gift every time I access emunand. The .CIA is from the United States so I know that's not the problem. Even the BigBlueMenu CIA has to be unwrapped on every boot. Anyone care to lend a hand?

Hey can somebody help me? I'm trying to format sysNAND but it won't let me perform a system format unless I connect to the internet and update :/

I've tried filling the 3 connection slots with dummies but that didn't help

Same problem here. I'm pretty sure the system format will force a sysnand update so it is best to avoid it.

hey I took one huge risk for the team and can confirm that you CAN connect your 3DS to the internet for a format, it won't update

Yes. Actually, I have never seen a flash cart you couldn't do that with, new or retro.

I'm almost certain that's not the first time I've read that, but it may have been on a different site, maybe MaxC. Still, I don't think 4.5 makes you do that, and I'm concerned it might deactivate the NNID, so I'm planning to do the unlink after the downgrade.

Questions:
1) Can I move the same red card back and forth between a 9.2 system and a 4.x system? And if I do this, will card2 game saves carry over or will there be encryption problems? (And if I manually copy card1 saves, will they work, or will they also have encryption problems?)
2) Is it possible to dump my puzzle swap/mii plaza save information from my 9.2 system and put it on my 4.x system?
3) Would it be possible someday for someone to create a homebrew program which runs on an exploited 3DS, connects to Gateway's site, and dumps the exploit HTML onto your SD card so that you can put it on another web page, and use that web page instead of Gateway's page the next time?

Hmm... Another question, How can I keep my legit eshop copy of RF4 while in EmuNand? The easiest (and longest) way I can think of is to let the game download all over again through the eShop and finally make use of the Save Backup option.
Any other way? Like make a 1:1 copy of my SysNand to use as EmuNand?

I figured out what happened: I took out my 3DS' old SD card and formatted emuNAND on a new one. Since some Streetpass data is stored on the SD, it didn't get copied over. Dug up the backup on my PC and did a bit of looking on 3Dbrew to figure out which title I needed to copy back to the new SD card:

Nintendo 3DS\[numberstring]\[numberstring]\title\0004000e\00021800

After copying and overwriting that folder from my backup to my emuNAND SD card, it works like a charm.

For the purposes of this FAQ, I'd like to confirm that games with the old save encryption can still load the save fine on 9.x.
However, Smash Bros sees the save as corrupted. The rest all work fine.
So it's a safe bet that the new update on 9.x can load both old GW saves and new saves (from cartridge or from GW 3.0) just fine.
