Hey Everyone,

Sorry if this is in the wrong section :(

Adventure Time randomly crashes on the "Loading Time" screen that appears when you go for one screen to the next. By crash I mean it stays there definitely showing loading time with the little dude going around in the bottom right corner.

No idea why this happens. I have tried Habib cfw 4.65 and Darknet 4.66 both as NON Cobra but with no success. I have made the storage directory short in name length and also tried several loaders such as iris manager, multiman, game sonic manager etc.

Game installed to the internal hdd.

Would upgrading to a cobra cfw make any difference or simply not make a difference? (Only thing I found on the net was one person said they upgraded to Darknet cobra cfw v1.00 and it resolved their issue but no other details were left)

Would updating to Darknet 1.02 Cobra help with this? I understand there is a new stage2 file that helps game comparability with cobra only... I have never used a cobra firmware as never had a need. I do not even know if cobra is worth going to for someone who is merely playing a backup of owned games ripped by multiman or the like

Completely at a loss here as all other games work perfectly fine.

Thanks in advance for any help / suggestions

Zephyr :)

Perhaps one of the files were corrupted. Try checking the original BD rip/ISO and recopy it to the PS3 internal HDD.

Sorry, should have mentioned I have completely removed the game and save file and copied it over again. Must say, I have not tried loading from USB instead of internal HDD

I don't believe it is the game rip as I have ripped more than once.

In the end I will delete it and sell it and get a copy for Xbox :)

On a different note - what is better... Cobra cfw or non cobra or is it much of a muchness depending on what you want to do with your console? Or because cobra does all that the non cobra does and more is it better to just use cobra?

Back in the 3.01 - 3.4x days, we had stuff like COBRA USB and TB. Eventually, the COBRA developers opensourced their code and this allowed other firmware developers to incorporate the features that the original COBRA USB provided. COBRA extends ordinary firmware functionality by adding its own syscalls, thus allowing for less painful backup loading for PS3, PS2, and PSX, better "stealth", and plugin support.

Firmwares that incorporate the COBRA patches are usually pretty stable, however if you wish to use stuff like CCAPI, you may end up with a softbrick due to lack of RAM.

Do you want to extend the functionality of firmware? Pick a COBRA CFW.
Do you want to use applications that use a shit ton of memory? Pick a clean CFW.

Many thanks for the reply :)

I basically only use MultiMan to select my game and then start it from the XMB. Nothing fancy. I have no use for using applications that use memory (or not use a ton). I have PS2 games that I may wish to play one day so it sound slike Cobra would be the way to go there.

I assume MultiMan works perfectly fine on the Cobra Fw?

I understand there are CEX and DEX MultiMan but I only EVER use CEX firmware and CEX Multiman

Finally - my understanding is I can safely and easily install Darknet CEX 4.66 v1.02 Cobra firmware straight over the top of Darknet CEX CFW straight off USB from the XMB correct...?

MultiMAN will work fine with COBRA. In fact, using MultiMAN on a COBRA firmware will unlock mmCM to better handle COBRA features.

You will probably want to stick with CEX. DEX firmwares are for homebrew developers and game modders since DEX have more extensive debug features.

You can install Darknet 4.66 over your original firmware. If you wish to downgrade, you may need to enable the QA flag.

Many thanks for your replies.

I have qa enabled but have to do teh button combo any time I wish to use it (never had to use it but wanted to test if I cld do it - I used Habib standalone qa enabler for firmwares 4.xx or whatever it was as I can't remember off hand)

I have no intentions of downgrading. I am on 4.66 and happy to stay there - whether it be cobra or non cobra

Thanks again for your posts :)
