Please do your research Foxi4, it's pretty simple for a homebrew app to use a USB-HID controller (and in the case of a GC loader, substitute it for a real GC controller). Devolution even supports PS3 controllers and keyboards over bluetooth and wired xbox360 controllers which aren't USB-HID compatible.

Devolution is an overlay and USB-HID controllers are supported in homebrew, not in retail Wii games.

Uh yes? Did you not realize what you were originally replying to?
It doesn't matter if the GameCube adapter only works for one game. We have a large homebrew scene and Nintendont. As long as the thing comes out, we're good

You don't seem to understand my point - there's a lot of differences between Nintendont and Devolution. Devolution is an interpreter of GC software - it runs Gamecube games as if they were native Wii applications, therefor it has access to all of Wii's hardware and services. Nintendont on the other hand is a lot like a custom MIOS - it runs Gamecube software by making the host console "a Gamecube", to put it in easy to understand terms. Getting HDD's to work was enough of a hassle, all the auxiliary code such as drivers has to fit into a very small amount of cache space. crediar said it in no uncertain terms - he was already stretching it when the Dios Mios project began (which is why originally the application could only use SD cards - there just wasn't enough cache space for USB support until the code was heavily refined) and Nintendont follows the same principles. This is why Dios Mios doesn't and never will support NTFS drives, and by extension neither will Nintendont. tl;dr Devolution and Nintendont do the same thing, but the approach is completely different. I'm willing to believe that Devolution could get USB-HID support (if it was in active development, which it isn't to my knowledge), but I sincerely doubt Nintendont or Dios Mios ever will. Is that more clear to you now?

What's clear to me is that you have no idea what you're talking about.
Nintendon't and Devolution both run GC games as wii apps. Nintendon't does not work like MIOS (it wouldn't work on the WiiU if that were the case) - it mainly patches relevant pieces of code to convert hardware addresses from GC mode to wii mode. Unlike DIOS MIOS there is no space restriction for the code since it has nearly the entirety of MEM2 to itself. It already practically supports any USB-HID controller (along with wiimotes via bluetooth, something which wouldn't be possible if your supposed space restrictions and "GC mode" theory were true), as long as a configuration file is present to list how the buttons should be interpreted. Devolution's USB-HID support is less generic (it only supports PS3 controllers and USB keyboards) but it's still present. And it was updated less than three weeks ago, for your knowledge.

Fair enough then, perhaps I've been out of the loop for a bit too long - good to know. :)

I made an account to post this. My local gamestop had these two, and I bought them
they have digital triggers. They work with Nintendont like classic controller pros.
Sunshine sucks with it, you can't run and spray water at the same time.

EDIT: Through trial and error I have figured out that they only work in Nintendont when plugged into old wii remotes, not wii remote plus

Hm, as I had expected digital triggers' to fuck up with games like Sunshine.

If Nintendo ever develops Sunshine 2 then they'll need to bring back controllers with analogue triggers because digital triggers are shit either way.

I opened it up! Plastic is cheap, and easily damaged. Triggers are definitely digital. The spot that would house the Gamecube's rumble feature is completely hollow and feels cheap and light because of it.
Inside each of the trigger housings there is the plastic button, a loosely coiled spring about 2 inches long that hits the little rubber digital button thing.

It's really uncomfortable and feels cheap because of the weight, so I just shoved a bunch of pennies in there.

presumably someone could use one of these and a gamecube controller to make their own, better version of this concept. The wiring is all color coded and the wire has enough grip behind it to hook into a normal purple gamecube controller, I think.
Anyway I figured you guys might be interested in these notes.

thanks for that, this will definitely help many people in their decision whether or not to buy those :-)
I ordered the smash game + gc adapter bundle anyway, so I'm gonna stick with the real gc controllers and not some cheap knockoffs :-)

I'm a little late to the party but am i right in understanding the controllers in this thread (on the first page, and these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Super-Smash...=UTF8&qid=1415301256&sr=8-2&keywords=HORI+wii) are emulating the Wii Classic Controller(this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nintendo-Wii-Classic-Controller/dp/B000IN0BSU) ??

and it connects the same way by fitting it to a Wii mote? and will work with all games that support the classic controller?

I'd love one of these to replace my classic controller. I've not had my Wii U long i'm not sure what emulators support which controllers.. do most of them support the classic controller? (i'll mainly be using nintendont, SNES, genesis and MAME if they are available.. still getting my head around it)

It's designed like a GameCube controller but it's recognised as a Wii Classic Controller.

Edit: Nice to see the Hori NGC controller is available for pre-order now, that at least is better than the PDP controller.

Thanks, so i guess between the HORI controller, wii mote and Wii U gamepad i'm covered for playing most games (wii, nintendont, wii u, emulators) or will i need the pro wii u controller as well?

The Hori/PDP are a no go for GameCube games like Sunshine.

Phooey, it really is disappointing that there's been at least TWO different attempts to make a GameCube-ish Wii(U) controller, and NEITHER of them have analog triggers... I suppose it doesn't matter for any official Wii/Wii U software (the digital triggers will probably be more responsive in Smash, actually), but I was hoping that these would end up being the perfect wireless Nintendon't controllers... :'(

For now, the OG Classic Controller is still the best way to play Super Mario Sunshine on Wii U due to its analog triggers (I didn't even know they were analog before Nintendon't!), but it feels so cramped, and the triggers have a very small range.
