Hardware Future "New 3DS" owners. How you going to customize your system?

Are you intending to get a New 3DS or New 3DS XL?

What color are you intending to get? Will you be getting any plates to go with it?

I want a White 3DS with plate number 005 or 036. 024 is nearly $30 so it could be made out of wood or stained bamboo as opposed to plastic.

I'd honestly rather have an XL, but the appeal of the swappable plates and color white has me tempted to get the inferior model.

I will probably sell my swapped board japanese 3DS XL, and buy a white new 3DS.

For the backplate, probably later.

Will the New 3DS still have regular DS compatibility? It seels like ending that would give nintendo the upper hand once and for all over Gateway in the future.

Yes, it has all the features of the old 3ds with minor upgrades. Most of which is not focused on the enhanced hardware, they'll use that now they have it, but it's main focus is to accommodate their new Amiibo series. Trying to sell cheap NFC toys and face plates at marked up prices to get 3DS owners to buy into more Nintendo products than just software.

Most people will buy one system, and a few games which is great for Nintendo, but its much better when they buy a system, some games, some amiibos, some face plates and other accessories...

The plats are only for the original size models not the XL/LL

Look better in which colors are N3DS and N3DS XL/LL.

Red/black 3DS XL owner here and I'll probably get the New 3DS XL when it hits the states. Not sure when I'll buy it, that depends on some factors. If I will leave for Korea again as soon as it is released then I will get one immediately. I'd rather have an SNES styled version with the proper console and button colors if I can. I don't care to much about the swappable faceplates.
