tried out the 2.3 b and so far got no problems. backup up my saves just in case. Was using 2.2 and after I updated my emunand with 2.3 it works fine for me. I manged to finally trade over my pokemon from my X retail card and my backup of my Y. But i used trade to device in same room so didnt go online. And everything is good. All my saves work [all 5 of my games im playing still work everything's in tact].

Impressed with it so far, nothing radically new encryption aside but it seems stable enough for a public release.

Little tip,
Just enter the word Update into the eshop search box and you'll see all of the update packages available. Whichever roms you intend to use bag them now. There are a couple there for things I wasn't aware of.

yeah, and also download them 'later' as opposed to now, then you can download up to 10 at one time in sleep mode, it makes it a lot easier than selecting one update, waiting for it to download, then selecting another... etc
as of today in the japanese eshop, there are 111 updates, naturally, it's silly to download every update, some are quite shovelware-esque :)

I dont like to run my 3ds in standby. Im very paranoid about the console updating itself by accident lol. Sorry if this question has been answered already but how do i access updates for other roms or even access different region 3ds stores? Im using a Europe 3ds atm and there only 23 tittle updates lol. I always thought you couldn't access other regions updates unless it was the same region at the system.

hi, you can't access other eshops, the 3ds is region locked etc, my european 3ds sees 21 updates, i just checked now, maybe it is different dependent on the region settings if you get 23, i'm not sure :) anyway, 5 of those are for the louvre thing, which is like a museum guide right? not really a game :D

and really, relax about your 3ds, it will not update automatically, it cannot. try to stop worrying so much and enjoy your life!

Your right man hehe. So i take it you also have a japanese 3ds which is why you can see 111 updates?

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

i dont have an sd card adapter but I have an usb sd card adapter

    For your R4
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
but why choose it over ysmenu @Psionic Roshambo?

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card

Slightly slower loading but a bit more convenient
