Hi! I'm looking for a Racing Game on PC that has shifting.
The more realistic, the better! (In terms of mechanics)

I found Burnout Paradise, and while the Open World concept is nice, it lacks Shifting which makes the game rather dull. Any suggestions, let me know!
It can be freeware or payed.

Pretty sure most if not all racing games have an option for manual transmission. I know the Need for Speed games have it, the GRID games have it...hell, you'd probably be more hard-pressed finding a racing game that doesn't have a manual transmission option

If you're looking for shifting with a clutch button option as well as a gear changer, f1 2012 has it, I'd assume newer ones do too. Also not racing, but euro truck sim 1 and 2 have full manual with clutch

Ironic, I just got F1 2012.
Still downloading now.
I'll give those a try.

You would be surprised.
Every Racing game I have tried so far does NOT have manual transmission :|

All of the need for speed games I've played since and including NFS: Most Wanted 2005 had a manual option, yet that simply consisted of hitting a button to shift up or down, no clutch, which I really enjoy.

Forza 4 on the 360, Forza 5 on the Xbox One have manual with clutch which I really like. Can't say much for PS3 games at all since I don't use mine. And PC, like I said, the F1 games did (or at least 2012) but they're no Forza :/ , Euro Truck Sim 1 and 2, GTR 2 - FIA GT has manual with clutch, never played it, actually gonna give it a shot right now

Truck Sim 2 is pretty good so far, but definitely not a racing game (obviously).
I'll give F1 2012 a try in a little bit.

Grid, Grid so much! Fantastic racing game, the first one was amazing, so well done. GRID and DiRT, both from CodeMasters, the racing genre gods.

GRID will be my next try. Thanks Satangel!

Edit:
I should mention First Person is preferred...
GRID and DiRT appear to be both 3rd person.

Assetto Corsa, rFactor 1 and 2, iRacing (though you have to pay for it), Simraceway, Race Injection...

How is Assetto Corsa? I was looking at it on the summer sale but didn't buy it, I had bought quite a few things as it is that I shouldn't have bought anyway, so I wasn't really able to pay the price it was at even on sale.

I think both have First Person. GRID especially, IIRC. Dirt I don't know for sure but very likely it has it too.
Really, GRID, that game is the best racer ever IMHO. 5 years old now, aged so so well, fantastisc game.

I know DiRT 2 has it, can't speak for anything else.

From what I can tell by the sim racing community, AC is the next big thing for sim racing in general. From what I played, well, it's pretty, it sounds good, and it's definitely the best racing simulator game I played in terms of physics. So, if you're big on sin racing, you will enjoy this one. If you don't have the patience to learn it though (and trust me, sim racing, especially on AC, is hard stuff), or don't generally have fun against the AI... well, it might not be your game. Then again, I've not played the multiplayer of the game, so, I have no idea how that changes things.

But, in terms of sim racing, I'd say it is definitely worth checking out.

The only thing stopping me from really getting into sim racing on the pc is not having a good (read: any) wheel/pedal setup. I need to get me some good equipment, and then I know what I'll be doing.
