I've been lurking in this thread for awhile, but I finally made an account to offer some advice on a few things.

1) Falcom's romanization for クロスベル自治州 is "Crossbell State." You'll probably run into some character count problems using Independent State, and it's kind of a clumsy, unwieldy phrase to use in this case.
2) 戦術書・太陽, 戦術書・月, 戦術書・星 - the second should be Moon, not month. Zero and Ao no Kiseki both have a lot of references to Sun, Moon, and Star. You'll definitely see it in the locations as well. This may be tied to another mystery in the series, too.
3) Be careful. This series is very notorious for "translation traps." - terms can be used without a proper 'in-game' definition in the series a lot, and then next game, or maybe two or three later, they'll actually define the word as a proper term that doesn't mean exactly what the kanji translates out to. Be very very careful with this, because Zero has a LOT of foreshadowing to Ao- even the title itself has meaning that isn't explained until Ao no Kiseki.

To give an example of #3, let me use First Chapter / Trails in the Sky as an example. There are mild spoilers, but I'll try to be vague in order avoid any major spoilers:

The term 煉獄 is used in FC when reading a quote. A straight up translation of this would be 'purgatory.' --but then 3rd reveals that the term to fit with it is 'Gehenna,' and it does not mean 'purgatory' in in-game context.

I can't help too much on the translation, since my website consumes my life and I'm doing a lot of translations there, but I thought I'd provide some quick bits to help a little.

Cool. Thanks. I should have noticed that... Yeah. If you look at the place names in the spreadsheet you will see, Tower of Stargaze, Temple of Moon, and Fort of Sun. Thankfully those had nice little pictures from the ripped images to name those.

omgfloofy.
Thanks for the fixes, I never played the series so I don't know the right terminology.
How should I translate 封技・封魔 I can write them literal but I'm sure there's a better way.
Is it Seal/Sealing, or just Art like tales game has, I'm not sure what the game system is.

Oh and if you'll look now I translated some more misc and weapon items.
and for the love of god someone please scan them all and correct any mistakes I made.

I would go off of the attack style names for them.
封技 - usually seals physical attacks and Crafts. In the past, I just referred to it as Seal Craft.
封魔 - Magic in the Kiseki series is referred to as Orbal Arts, so 'Seal Arts' is what I'd use there.

I also think these are close to what XSEED named the status effects in their translation for Trails in the Sky. I'll check later when I'm not at work.

I can take a look, but it might take some time before I can get to it. I have my hands full with things for my own website right now, unfortunately.

I'll go with [Seal] and [Silence] respectively.

Despite the 'standard' for 'silence' when magic is unusable, it doesn't exactly work in the Kiseki setting. Especially when you look at the item to fix it is "electrical tape." The concept of "Sealed Arts" is that something is affecting the orbment to prevent the character from using orbal arts. Something like breaking it or whatnot. As a result, the electrical tape is used to repair the device itself.

Magic in the Kiseki series is (for the most part!) magitech. They can use magic through their orbments, which are physical devices they carry with them.

Unless you're sure from the context that it's a rocket (it could be), it's probably a locket. Especially in the context of an inventory item.
Cat Savings Bank -> Catty Bank (?) as in piggy bank but that might not come across well or at all.
みっしぃ is the name of some mascot thing. The only thing I know is it's that mascot-ish cat thing from Falcom Academy [anime]. I guess it's original work is this. I'm going to name it Misshi.

oh and I'll change the seal art if you won't have time to correct it ;)
Got a test tomorrow (Algorithm) so I'm kinda busy atm.

The cat did originate in Zero no Kiseki. It's the mascot for Michelam Island, a theme park that's located in Crossbell. He's been showing up in everything that Falcom's done lately, but the primary one of note is that he shows up in Ys Memories of Celceta, which XSEED localized. They translated his name as "Mishy."

Literally if you chew [it], as much as you chew [it], [the] flavor comes out.
A more natural translation might be, the more you chew, the better the taste.

So I have been busy working on some stuff.. Mainly trying to figure out how the names that are stored within the dialog files work. Well good news is, I believe they have been conquered. As shown in the screenshots, I have modified the names of the elderly couple on the train, but I also modified all the names that are present in the script going over the allotted space, therefore increasing the size of the file by about 20 bytes or so. Didn't have to change anything in any other files due to the modification (well except remove compressed counterparts). The names use an internal pointer system that I don't fully understand where it is stored but I know how to manipulate it just fine . The old man used 4 bytes originally and old woman used 6 bytes. Well you can see that I used more than that here. 7 for old man and 8 for old lady. Progress!

Till all the kinks are worked out of the dumper, the inserter is on hold. As for the stuff in the item spreadsheet, that will be inserted manually.

I should have worked on it, but didn't. I'll do so today.
ZeroG: Do you have a tool that does the name tables at EOF of the script files?

Also in tools: The only thing we know we're missing at this point is the treasure box text. It's hard to do programmatically, so I will recommend doing it manually / semi-automatically. We have the following:
を手に入れた。
宝箱には
が入っている。
持ち物が一杯なので、
をあきらめた。
宝箱には何も入っていない。
I can have the inserter look for those strings and replace them with equal-length strings. That should work. In the end, it'll look like:
???<-Got this. (did this for Brandish) Note: For this string there's no text before the item string. So we kinda have to do it this way without knowledge of assembly programming I don't have.
Put ??? in the box.
Gave up on ???. Items full.
Nothing in the box.

Something like this.

Basic English grammar people:
it's: contraction of it is. "It's a fish." (it is a fish)
its: possessive. "Its texture is smooth." (The texture [of the thing] is smooth)

Caps:
If in doubt, don't use caps.
Armorica milk - should milk be capitalized here or not? It think not.
The basic rule: proper names are capitalized along with the first word of each sentence. Armorica is a province, so it gets capitalized. "Armorica milk" is just milk that's from there (was produced there), so milk doesn't get capitalized. "The Manhattan Project" is a very specific thing, therefore each word of its name is capitalized. Am I making any sense?
I capitalize every word of item names because it makes item lists easier to read (I think). Technically the same rules apply to item names as well.

Here is the current dumper. Updates since last time:
1) Dumps more of the text. Was missing certain (important) lines.
2) Won't dump files with no dialog.

ZeroG wrote a batch script that dumps the dialog using my program. Assumes you installed Python to C:\python27; can be easily modified.

Well I deleted all the stuff I had for this ages ago unfortunately, but I know that the item strings have the item ID (or whatever it uses as a placeholder for the item, like %s) in the string, so you can put it anywhere you want.

Here is a sample of what I have been working on for the dialog dumps. These are not editable but just to show and get a little feedback. There is no back story in it but the finished product will have stuff like that. I have been working on inserting the names into the files, which isn't really hard but definitely time consuming. Thankfully I have my little tricks. So I wouldn't worry much about the scripts right this second. I believe the wait will be worth it.

Anybody know of another tool for creating PSP iso that sticks to the crc. Been trying to use UMDGen 4.00 and when I go to import the file list it crashes.... Probably due to all the stuff I have done to modify the file. Trying to run some tests.

Edit. NVM. Figured out a way around my problem and the tests are working like a charm. :)

Here is a general idea of what the item windows will be like (pay no attention to the trash stuff, it was a quick insert.) Gives kind of an idea of what there is to work with. Item name wise, I think this is about as long as we can get, but description wise, there is two lines with more space.

Item title: By my count 24 characters. It's a variable-width font, so the actual number of letters (that actually fit) will be different for each item.
Descriptions: 60 characters. And two whole lines, too. It could be prudent in a few rare cases to move some text from line 2 to line 1.

Just assume every character is 8px wide. You could test it with names that are a succession of "m"/"w" letters, since those are the ones taking more space than all other English chars.
