Hardware Messed up NAND mod on XL

Hello, tried to do the NAND mod stupidly with a low quality soldering iron and a chunky tip that's seen better days. One of the tiny cermaic capacitors (C154) came off, but the console functioned fine without it. Now I've gone and flooded one of the tiny transistors (101) with solder so that the sides are now all electrically common. The result is a BSOD.
The desoldering gun is too large to remove the solder, should I get some solder wick? Also any chance the transistor has been heat damaged too?

You can try with the ol' school method. Heat (melt) the solder, remove the soldering iron and hit the board on a hard surface. The solder blob should fly off the PCB and components and almost instantly become solid.

You can try applying some liquid flux on the bridge, and then heat the solder enough to melt it. Hopefully the bridge will be broken when you lift the iron.

Take care to clean up any flux residues afterwards, that stuff is corrosive.

[edit] It might also be a good idea to keep the transistor in position when doing this, to avoid moving it around.

Thanks for the suggestions, gonna buy a better iron first. May as well invest in a quality one for the future.

Well got a quality iron and removed the short I think (tested with a multimeter) but I'm still getting a bluescreen. Oh and after looking at the silkscreen I realised the component was a resistor array, not a transistor. Dunno whether I've damaged the component with the heat though.
