I tried using your Multicart Update for the R4i Revolution Flashcart made by ndsill.net located under the DSTT/i heading. I formatted my microSD using Panasonic SD Formatter with the settings you gave in the original post. I installed YSMenu as primary kernel and I am getting a black blank screen. Hoping for a fast reply. Thanks in advance.

Ok so I renamed the iLL.iL to _ndsill.dat and now it boots as a primary kernel, the thing is the loading time takes forever and it still loading with the loading icon on the touch screen.

Can I do all this with R4i 3DS RTS? I cannot seem to find it listed exactly here so I'm just curious and want to properly play a game without getting issues like with Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin where every time I exit/enter a room the game freezes.

I've got it to work! Now, this isn't a problem, but for it to load I have to scroll to the bottom and click TTMenu.NDS. Then it reloads and works, what's up with that?? Is there a way to change this?

Seams to be OK on a Second load, as .NDS file , maybe backup a copy, and rename it under file extention to self loader .DAT , but would have to be name same as in your root folder of card. IE

TTMenu.NDS
TTMenu.DAT

Okay seriously. I know that I can use the .nds file but due to my habit of soft reseting and how I don't want to exit the game and go to the home menu on my 3DS every time I wanna change a game on the same flash card I really want to know if the actual firmware will work on an R41 3DS RTS card as well. I don't wanna test it myself due to fear that I will f*** up and have to get a new R4 or some other kind of flash card. Please guys.....help.

Is there any reason I can get the AAI2 Case 1-3 partial patch to load but not the full translation to work? I'm assuming the full translation has some changes to the DATS, is there any way I can change the game ID so that the firmware loads previous AP?

Yes, the GAME ID changes when the original rom is patched with that AA2 latest patch file. It's not the same as the partial patched GAME ID in the DAT file (extinfo.dat and infolib.dat). You'll need to use eNDCryptS to encrypt the rom, then use R4CCE to see the encrypted GAME ID and take note of it. Then use TTDT to open up the infolib.dat and extinfo.dat. Locate the first 4 digits ID you noted, then you can either make a duplicate of that DAT offset but change the last 8 digits to the new ID you had noted, or edit that game id without making duplicates. Normally that would be how to solve this problem. Note that usually I would decrypt back the encrypted rom.

I'm no expert on this thing, but I've heard that in some cases, the DAT offset will need editing too if the patchwork causes the AP location to change. If AP kicks in, that means the AP will need re-fixing as must have changed location. When that happens, you'll probably need RetroGameFan to help.

The AP location remains the same for each patched game at very high RAM, the extinfo.dat ID 8 digits was defaulted to 00000000 as extinfo can do this, But however not infolib ID have to be used as separate for each patched game, that's why only infolib.dat needs updateing 4 this game .

Hello, I happened to see your post regarding AAI2 and the DSTT. I downloaded and replaced my infolib.dat and I got the bar to finally load without the "errorcode4, please reset system." Yet, another problem happened to pop up. I'm getting a white screen as soon as it fully loads up. Do you know any solutions to this problem?
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

When was last time you updated fully ?

You might also need the updated extinfo.dat Attached file, extract it from zip

Hope it may help

Alright, I'm a tad confused here..

I'm using the R4 SDHC that's in v1.34 (no "i" or "upgrade", and it's from the dead site "www.r4sdhc.com")
And this doesn't work at all. I've used the Wood R4 for clones for quite a bit before running into this. Then I tried to update to this to get to playing the Ace Attorney Investigations 2 Fan-Translation while removing Wood R4.

And the thing doesn't load past beyond the "Loading..." screen. I tried using the _DS_MENU.DAT supplied from the actual kernel instead of from here, and it loaded, but every time I try to load any game from YSMenu I get some kind of r4dldi.dat error..

As for the Fan-Translation, when I load it on the normal kernel the screens go all white, and on Wood R4 it loads a bunch of random letters and freezes.

Help?

I have a DSTT flash cart. I see that I can either install YSmenu or TTmenu.
I'd appreciate it if anyone could explain the pros and cons of each, or at least which they prefer and why?

Thanks!

Hey everyone,

Now this is probably be a stupid question but, I have been using RGF's kernel for some time now on my DSTT in my DSLite and its always been top notch with YSMenu but recently I decided its high time to get me a 3DS. I also picked up one of these:

http://nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=507

or for those who don’t want to click R4 SDHC Dual-Core 2014 for 3DS with the Brand URL of r4isdhc.com.cn

Oh and it shows up as "Deep Labyrinth" if that’s any extra help

I have been trying the R4 fake wood builds in the latest update but without luck, I am derping somewhere along the line I suspect but could anyone point me to which one I should use since I didn’t spot it listed in the OP if they have worked it out and if its a direct boot or do I run YSMenu from the original software.

The closest I got so far is having one that I have to start from the normal card software but it fails to load a ROM and gets stuck about 10% into the loading bar.

Cheers in advance

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
