fist post NOOB here...have a wii softmodded with the homebrew channel installed on it...what im looking to do is play some japan gamecube games from the actual disc...do i just install priiloader, and run my games from the gamecube disc channel? thanks.

edit: or after doing some reading should i just use gecko os to launch the discs?

looking for the easiest way to overwrite the region stuff.

I would say priiloader then use the region free hack that is has.

I'm having a weird problem with Devolution... quoting my post from the main thread.

Hi,
awhile back I got most of my GC games to rip and verify in Devolution, except for Twilight Princess. It would always exit back to the homebrew channel whenver I tried to verify it. The disc was pretty scratched, though, so I chalked it up to that.
However, I just bought a pristine copy of Twilight Princess, re-ripped it, and I'm having the exact same issue again - I can't verify it.
Can anyone help? I just have no clue what could be causing it to not verify.

Edit: when I went back to my Wii U, I tried running the game and noticed that the light on the wiimote would start blinking, and would stay lit when I hit the home button, like what happens when I'm playing my other games. But the screen stayed black. It makes me wonder if the game verified, but something is weird while trying to run it.

Please let me know if I need to give any more info. I really would like to get this game running./QUOTE]

I need help trying to get usbloader to work. Basically what happens is I load the app and it does everything up until it says "initializing usb" which it then freezes for a while and then goes to the app menu without the usb connecting. Here is a syscheck. Please help.

Your cios 249 is stubbed thats why your homebrew isnt working.

222,223,250 are also stubbed.

I'm very unfamiliar with Wii hacking/modding and don't have much interest in most of the functions, but I have a problem that doesn't seem to be fixable by legit means.

When I start up the Wii it says "Unable to load Mii Channel data. ... The save data is corrupted." I go to the Mii Channel and try to format it, but it stays on the "Formatting...." screen indefinitely (or at least for well over an hour). So I tried formatting the system memory entirely, and once again it stays on the formatting screen forever and does nothing, all of the data is still there.

What software can I use to get the Mii Channel, preferably without "jailbreaking" the Wii or breaking too many rules/agreements?

I have a question. Is there a way to get Sonic CD on Wii Menu? It's the best game ever IMO, and there's no VC of it. Whether it be inject or forward to Genplus GX, is there a way to get Sonic CD on my Wii Menu?

Hi

I followed the Homebrew, BootMii and cIOUS installation guides as a means to get Project M running on my European Wii.

I followed all the steps to cIOS until it said "copy the d2x-cios-installer folder to the folder on your SD card called Apps"... But the problem is that I don't HAVE a folder called 'Apps'.

I was a bit confused - maybe I had missed a step in one of the earlier tutorials? Whatever the reason, I decided to simply create a new folder that I named 'Apps' and then follow the guide from there (putting the d2x-cios-installer folder into the Apps folder I created myself). Then I followed the steps up until I got to the part where the SD card must be inserted into the Wii, you open the Homebrew channel and choose the installer that pops up.

Here came the problem: ever since I said "Load" the screen has been completely black and nothing has happened. I'm afraid I might have done something to my Wii.
Is it already bricked? Will it get bricked if I turn the console off and try again?

Please help me, I only wanted to get Project M on my softmodded PAL Wii.

I softmodded my wii over a year ago thanks to this fine community. The only problem I am having is concerning Virtual Console wads. I am afraid that if I install one that isn't legit that my system will brick. Is there a safe method (or app) in order for me to play Virtual Console games? If there is still a risk, then I'll probably buy another Wii for Virtual Console games exclusively. Thank you.

I followed a guide and I get stuck on "Reloading Bootmii Ios" when I try to load neek2o. I can't find a solution to my problem either. Is there another way to load VC wads safely?

do you have your nand on usb:\nands\nand1\ ?
Thanks alot! It works now. When I went to nands folder I noticed I had two that I copied to the USB. I deleted the first one I made, since I made a mistake on that one in Modmii. I renamed the folder to "nand1" and it now works perfectly.

Is there a way to run burned DVD-R with the first model Wii. Iv'e got one on it's way to me that needs the laser lens either cleaned or replaced, but I'd like to set it up to play burned Wii and GC discs and eventually add an external USB HDD and go disc-less. The burned games would only be temporary. Thanks

Well that would need a modchip if I'm correct. Early models of Wii did support DVD-ROMs without modchips, but DVD-Rs require one.

Here's a question from mine. Is there a way to install DIOS MIOS separately from regular MIOS?

If that's the case is it possible to have soft-mod and mod chip installed at the same time?

So,I bought a Wii few years ago already soft modded with firmware 4.2u running USB Loader GX.Recently, after a long time,I felt like playing my Wii again and decided to update the soft mod myself so I could play games that never worked with me before like Metroid Prime trilogy and Smash Bros. Brawl.
I updated my Homebrew Channel first so that it remains on my Wii even when I update the firmware, then I updated my firmware to 4.3u and I followed the steps from this tutorial to run the most recent cfg USB Loader.:

http://gwht.wikidot.com/ios236

http://gwht.wikidot.com/d2x

http://gwht.wikidot.com/usb-loader

I followed everything and thus I can play my Wii games on my HDD once again. The problem, though,is that I can't play most of my WiiWare and Virtual Consoles wads that I installed through the SD Cards anymore.Only a few of them still works, but most of them give a "failed to load" message if I try to launch them from the SD Cards. They work fine if Im launch them through the console, but of course, the Wii's extremely limited internal memory encourages to simply store them on the SD Card and I can't do that anymore. Is there a solution to this? Some people told me to patch the IOS80,and some others tell me to use emuNAND,but I'm a bit scared to do it since I'm a noob and this could brick my Wii and I heard emuNAND doesn't run every game perfectly like Castlevania Rebirth and most of the N64 VC games. Is there some safe option to solve this?
