And yet, a great number of people still use it. Support has stopped, but it is not dead yet
And then? That means ms wont release any update for XP. That doesnt make an OS dead. I have a working computer with win 98, and its still working
All do work, if something doesnt work I can try to help you.Does anyone know if any of these methods still work or are they outdated?
That's not the point. The point is that it's not fit to use in this era anymore. So take the WinXP guide off the starting post. And then? That means ms wont release any update for XP. That doesnt make an OS dead. I have a working computer with win 98, and its still working

Sorry but i'm not going to remove it because it just lost support from microsoft, people can still use it. I give the tools, but the people choose which tool to use and how to use them. That's not the point. The point is that it's not fit to use in this era anymore. Which script are you using?Alright, asking for help... I thought the best way to do this would be dualboot Ubuntu and run that script, so.. I've done so with one adapter, at the end of setting it up it says.
ERROR:missing module or filename.
WiFi adapter not supported.
I plugged in another adapter of mine, that I'm almost certain can act as a hotspot. Re ran the script and it just says the same thing.. Using Ubuntu system settings under Network I can flip the switch and turn on a hotspot just fine. Any help? please and thank you!

Your WiFI isnt supported?Hi, with linux the tutorial doesn't work for me.
I get this error:
Code:kronos@kronos-trusty:~$ sudo /tmp/nzone.sh BASE256,GBATEMP 1 - wlan1 2 - wlan0 Select the number of the wireless interface to use: 2 dnsmasq: bind to server socket DHCP failed: address already in use net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1 Configuration file: /etc/wlan0_hostap.conf nl80211: Could not configure driver mode nl80211 driver initialization failed. hostapd_free_hapd_data: Interface wlan0 wasn't started
Other error:
Code:kronos@kronos-trusty:~$ sudo /tmp/nzone.sh BASE256,GBATEMP 1 - wlan1 2 - wlan0 Select the number of the wireless interface to use: 2 net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1 Configuration file: /etc/wlan0_hostap.conf nl80211: Could not configure driver mode nl80211 driver initialization failed. hostapd_free_hapd_data: Interface wlan0 wasn't started
Type iwconfig on a console with a wifi adapter connected, also try using the second script (its almost the Dukes but manual way without auto change)The very first one listed in the first post. Dukes. On the same PC I have a really hard time getting them to work under windows (driver install hangs, PC won't shutdown/boot into windows with either of them plugged in). I think there might be something wrong with the usb ports or something on that PC even though I have the right chipset drivers installed etc. The adapters work absolutely fine on my other Win7 PC. So I guess I'll try the windows 7 method again on a different PC when I have time. Really annoyed I've been messing with this stuff for days on that PC and it never occurred to try another computer. Sigh.
Your WiFI isnt supported?
1. You can use WPA2Here is Mi(krotik)Pass configuration guide (see attachment). You should be more or less experienced Router OS user.
I've created it for my own purposes & distribute it as-is with no warranties & support. This config successfully working in my 951G-2HnD device. Kudos to dssmiktik for his "random" script (http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=38683).
I've two questions:
- Is it necessary for attwifi to be unsecured or I can protect it by WPA2?
- What is the minimum bandwidth rate is required to make HomePasses?
nl80211: Could not configure driver mode means your device isnt supported for hotspot.Mi wifi works great, and with ubuntu 12.04 i could use this script.
I have a capped internet and it works fine with 128kb/sHere is Mi(krotik)Pass configuration guide (see attachment). You should be more or less experienced Router OS user.
