Over engineered? Is the CPU overkill for what it was intended or what do you mean? Video playback on it is kind of a joke though. Still need to down the bitrate on most things.

i just mean....it was a DS....and a DS near the end of its life cycle, its like the new SD to Snes flash cards going HAHAHHA we beats the floppy loaders, the product was made a long time after the first generation devices and it only achieved what it did by adding a cpu to work as a co-processor, its overkill for 90% of nds flashcard users who just want to play nds roms

BigBlueBox seem like a bunch of moralist douchbags...How are your dumps proper releases WHEN THEY DON'T RUN!? How are runnable games dirty in any way?

Let me put it this way.

Previous Gasoline/Petroleum Engines require leaded fuel to run more better. However, it's a dirty fuel due to increase pollution. Normal unleaded gas wouldn't work as well on the old engines. However, what BBB is trying to achieve is to force GW/MT to be a newer engine to run unleaded fuel.

Proper releases won't work because they are proper. They need GW to patch things properly to run. The current "dirty" release is dirty because a hasty fix was applied to the dumps to make them work. However, it's not a "true proper" release as there are some fixes needed.

OP
I compared all 3 releases and here's the story...

1. BBB downloads Bird Mania 3D Game NCCH and Manual NCCH bins from Nintendo's CDN
2. BBB generates a NCSD header and concatenates the Game NCCH and Manual NCCH, but decides to modify the NCCH signatures of both the game and manual NCCH for some reason (why they did this is not known, but this is the "dirty" part as they now are unclean dumps)
3. Venom fixes the Game NCCH signature to match 1:1 with Nintendo CDN, but forgets the Manual NCCH, game magically starts to work on GW as the Game NCCH signature is valid 1:1 dump!
4. BBB fixes the Manual NCCH signature to match 1:1 with Nintendo CDN
5. We can now all enjoy clean 1:1 dumps!

As you can see, BBB created unclean versions of the eShop games in the first place and now with step 5 we have clean versions that are 1:1 dumps, no modifications.

Now some clean ROM purists may say that the generated NCSD header is not part of eShop ROMs, and they would be right. But as of this moment you can always strip the NCSD header away and extract the clean 1:1 NCCH dumps. Not to mention that you need the NCSD header currently to play it in GW card.

Well they might if they were 100% confident their card check to verify your gateway card is inserted couldn't be bypassed and only allow it in gateway mode not classic.......but still I'm not expecting it to happen

I used to read real manuals because they usually had cool artwork in and stuff.........e-manuals just aren't the same :P

Some of the basic benefits that could of came from manuals aren't even taken advantage of the e-manuals are more like the basic controls slip that used to come with games

Yeah, I outright buy hard copies of games I like the artwork for. But some of the e-manuals offer more details like tips tricks and hints. Don't have my ds or I'd give examples.

Looks like they've been dumping games since 2001. Then again, dumping isn't hard. BBB deserves quite some credit. Not sure about VENOM..
Dude, don't hate against VENOM. They were a force to be reckoned with in the GBA days. They're among my favorite groups. Caravan is my fave, though.
