You might have heard about nVidia's new Titan Z GPU which will be a workstation GPU and will cost you no more no less than $3000 US.
So AMD's response to this is their new R9 295x2 which is rumored to be even faster.
In reviews it beats 2x 780TI's in SLI which isn't bad at all.

Here's a trailer for the card:

So what do you think guys? Will you get it? Will it be the new fastest GPU on the planet? I'll let you to decide!

P.S.
I don't know if this is the right section or the post it or the Computer section...If this isn't the right place, then I'll ask a mod to move it.

Hmm 6TB drives and a new workstation card.... might have to actually charge people if it could lead to having things like this. Though I would also then have to get new displays.... might have to charge more.

What do the gaming equivalents run?

Yup...after trailers of games that don't show gameplay, we now have video card commercials that don't show any tech demo's. Next up: car commercials without driving, 'always'-commercials without women and movie trailers without movie footage. :P

More serious: I honestly haven't cared about high end graphic cards since the late nineties, but 'till recently I thought hardcore gamers who wanted their framerates to be <silk & sexy voice> smooth </voice> just had a hobby like anyone else. But nowadays...? PC gaming isn't pushing much boundaries anymore (most games are designed for consoles), and even if they were, the relative differences between video cards are smaller than ever. And that worries me. It seems to me this card is made for nothing but the title of being the manufacturer of the fastest video card.

...or am I totally missing something here?

Dick waving is a time honoured tradition Taleweaver.

Next up... most of that has already happened.

Titan Z and R9 295X2 aren't for gamer. It is specifically designed as mid-level workstation card.

They wouldn't put a closed loop water cooler on it in that design if it wasn't for gaming. Dual cards are better optimized for gaming then they are for workstations and AMD already has a fairly recent FirePro series out. This thing screams over clocking potential, especially with a good water cooling rig. It's got loads of VRAM which will be great for 1440p and 4K screens. People like me who are going to be playing Star Citizen with a high end system will be into this kind of card, since the game is being catered towards high resolutions and multiple screens.
