I don't want to sit through 7 minutes of vertical video; what's the trick?

Hold B when you turn on the system to boot in to vWii, then once vWii loads choose the WiiU channel to go to WiiU mode.

The video was nice for proof and all, but yeah, really should have just given the instructions straight out, since it's not complicated.

Thanks I appreciate that! No offense to original poster but with the video and link to his site this seemed like more of a 'Hey look at me I'm in the scene now' post then anything else. Again no offense meant, I just don't get the need people have to try and be an internet celebrity; let your work speak for itself. As is many people already knew of this so it isn't even a breakthrough.

Couple of Q's

Do you have to enter the vWii every time you turn the WiiU on or is it a one time thing? (I assume every time, but just wanted to make sure)

Also, can anyone confirm if Netflix works with this or not?

Yes you would have to do this everytime. As for Netflix, I will check that out later, when I have a chance

LOL sorry, that was not my intention at all. Just wanted to share this neat little trick.

No worries and I'm glad you didn't take offense :) I appreciate any and all input and tinkering because I certainly can't code or read code. I'm just at work so I didn't have 7 minutes to watch a video!

I'm an amateur programmer myself, but I'm far from being anything close to say, Team Twizzers. I am trying to add what I can to the scene. I'm actually more of a hardware person than software, but like I said I'd like to contribute to the scene for the sole purpose of getting the Wii U cracked that much sooner. Every person that pitches in, brings us a step closer to actual Wii U homebrew. I don't care about being the first to do anything in particular, just want to do what I can. I love modding consoles <3. Adding features to existing products ftw!

Sorry guys, I didn't realize somebody already discovered this. I never heard of it before, just the hacks for the vWii itself. I discovered this on my own while trying to bypass the update, but I guess I'm not the first one to figure this out lol. My mistake. Oh well, at least I helped spread the word about it :-P
