I'm still clinging onto a tiny hope they'll give GW customers a 2.0 all the same, EVO or not.

If Gateway are indeed following the scene, then surely they'd post an update, whether they are Evo3DS or not...
I just think if he opens it up for Homebrew developers it'll be made possible eventually, that's all.
Funniest thing I've seen in the homebrew section has been 'NO ROM LOADING IN HOMEBREW - BUT WE CAN'T WAIT TO GET OUR EMULATORS WORKING ON 3DS'... Like a GBA ROM is any less piracy than a 3DS ROM lol
I'd love Emulators on the 3ds, DSTWO made a decent effort but still doesn't run SNES games 100% perfectly, Mario Kart for example is practically unplayable even with the latest updates.
Best devices for emulators are tablets and PC's still, I rigged my Nexus 7 up with a DualShock3 and had a fine selection of emulators/roms. Still I'd prefer them on 3DS I think.

Of course technically it's all piracy, but the main difference is that game companies make no profit on games for older systems anymore, unless they're sold digitally like on the eShop. Of course you could get it second hand somewhere, but that would only help the person you bought it from and your game collection.
Agreed, GW's only saving grace at this point it to release their 2.0 FW as they have promised their customers for so long. If they do that I couldn't give a fuck about EVO or future releases. The silliest thing is I don't actually play the 3ds much at all, for all the retail games I have for it I've played about half of them and spent approx an hour on each of the ones I have played.

The EVO3DS supposedly has an MCU (micro controller unit). Now based on b00100100 posts, one way to update the FGPA would be to send usb signals to the MCU which then updates the FGPA. The MT-card supposedly has a "CPU" which is most likely a MCU as well. Unfortunately since there hasn't been any clearer photos available of the MT-card, we are not able to determine which chip could possibly be the MCU. We however determined that the Actel chip does not contain a cortex-m1 cpu hence the "cpu" being referred to by MT must refer to something else and is likely a MCU. Now on the http://gbatemp.net/threads/speculation-current-state-of-affairs-for-3ds-flash-cards.363645/ The last couple of posts were making some headway into the construct of the current flash cards as the construct can provide some ideas as to the thoughts that were present during the development. However, it went severely off-topic due to certain trolls kicking up a dust storm. Anyhow... enough of that.

The new evo3ds card claims to have a MCU, mt-card most likely have a MCU as well for FGPA updates. Now the real question is, what features require the use of the MCU because technically if the FGPA was preprogrammed with all the features already packed in, it might be redundant to include an MCU if no features require this MCU. If so, from a financial standpoint, it makes more sense to throw out a new card with new updates every now and then so they can get more sales.
Does anyone with any knowledge of circuit board electronics care to chime in on the other uses of a MCU? Also, if the MCU is sufficient to keep the card up-datable? I'm sure everyone on this forum is thinking, "will this card be updatable? will Evo3ds do a gateway and split with our money?". Understanding the physical aspect of this new card could help users here to make an informed purchase in the future.

Some information about programming FPGA using a MCU
Depending on how these next few weeks play out it may well be the current sales structure of 3ds carts. Wish GW would answer their emails... I've been lurking on some Chinese boards (thank Fuck for Google translate) - seems they are hating on both GW and EVO for this sort of tactic in updating. Their general census seems to be wait 6 months for the next competitor lol.
There is still the chance 2.0 comes out, considering 4.5 is still relevant to some degree (still a good fair amount of stock of 3ds with 4.x). Surely the first 6.x exploit cart would be screaming about it on every page.

Thing is , the videos work fine in the Edge Dev and Canary builds. But whatever the fix they made was, has never been pushed to Beta or Stable builds. Its been that way for as far back as I tested. Which was Edge 84. They are on 125 now.+1 -
