I just recieved my gateway 3DS this morning in the mail.

I decided to get a gateway 3DS instead of a MT-card(local reseller didnt have it MT-Card). So now I'm worried about the which firmware to use on at the moment without having the risking of bricking the 3DS

Alot of people are using lower firmware and some are using the latest which is 2.0b2 if im correct. But I have a few concerns as to which GW installer and launcher.dat to use.

I don't wanna using 2.0b2 coz there has been legit brick reports. Some people are lucky using 2.0b2 coz they can use it without any issues. I dont wanna take any chances.

So my question is, what the preferable firmware installer and launcher.dat to use with the least issues?

Still happily using b2, only real chance of bricking has come from the use of the diagnostic tools.

b1 pissed me off, GW mode crashes a lot and saves can fail.

I am now using my second 3DS device with the same Gateway card. No issues, ever, because I never ran diagnostics mode on either console, not even once.

On my old 3DS, I probably booted into Gateway Mode at least 400 times, mainly because of the Play Coin date change trick. Never an issue, besides sometimes having the console freeze and having to power cycle it.

On my new 3DS XL, I've booted into Gateway Mode probably only 20 or 30 times, because I refuse to do that Play Coin thing again. Still, never a single problem, and I doubt I will ever run into one, as long as I never, ever use diagnostics.

Still running 2.0b2 as always, and have never downgraded or used any other Launcher.dat file.

WELCOME BACK NEO! - Where the hell have you been lately? Been waiting for you to chime in on this EVO stuff!

(ON-TOPIC: - We can't advocate the use of b2, but I wouldn't advocate the use of b1 due to instability all the same ;) )

Lurking. Waiting.

That sounds all panther-ish, and not stalker-esque, right? Because I am totally a puma, not a weirdo. Except on Wednesdays. On Wednesdays, I dance the dance of life. Or something.

I've been using b2, because of data transfer and emuNAND 7.1. It doesn't hurt that I have a Raspberry Pi, and a NAND hardware mod installed too.

Bravely Default is the only reason I have not made it through FF X-X2 HD Remix, South Park: The Stick of Truth, Phoenix Wright - Dual Destinies, and DBZ - Battle of Z. I've put all of them on hold for Bravely Default.

Mainly because Norende does not grow if you don't have Bravely Default running, at least in sleep mode if not actively playing.

That said, update your emuNAND and download the demo. If you heed nothing else I've said, pay attention here. Rebuilding Norende is a motherf*cker. 11 buildings to rank up to level 11, which, at the final rank, requires 99 hours of real time with only one villager.

Unless you live where there are a lot of Bravely Default players, your Norende will grow SOOOOOOO SLOWLY.

Trust me. Abuse the glitch in the demo that gives you 20 free villagers to transfer to the actual game. You will regret it if you don't.

Stick of Truth was pretty fun, no replay value though.. Got massively trolled at the end also. Really at a lack for shit to play at the moment... The PS4 is somewhat of a bust for just about anything at the moment (even Second Son got ripped apart in the ratings). DBZ - Battle of Z looks fun. Naruto on 3ds was a fun game also for killing time but required soooo much grinding to push through. Need a decent DBZ game for 3ds :/

Battle of Z LOOKS fun, and IS kind of fun, but, if you're looking for a Budokai/Tenkaichi experience, it's worthless. It's a button-masher, at best, but it's beautiful and pretty enjoyable. I still want a game like DBZ: Infinite World on a modern-gen console.

Powerful Shippuuden was the very first game I beat on my Gateway card.

For some reason, this photo came out originally as two feet tall. Hmmm...

I had half a dozen games until I got my Gateway card. Those games traded in at Gamestop got me an amazing $30 in credit.

I DID purchase Dual Destinies, though. Had to. I don't even really mind; it's good enough that it was worth the money.

I'm still yet to play a phoenix wright or professor layton game (despite having the 4 layton DS games and both 3ds layton games on ROM).

Seriously guys, about 2 posts and the topic is waayyy off topic..

Waiting for 2.0 may take a while, but in a way using 2.0b2 could be seen as safe if you happen to have a NAND dump (do this in any case with the software for the 3DS carts) and a RPI/Arduino. Diagnostics is at least one confirmed way of bricking the console. Don't do that and you'll most likely be in the clear waters. Accidents could happen (as with any device tinkering with the internal firmware) so just don't go poking around stuff if you're not absolutely sure of how to proceed.

(F417H: InFamous does have a Metascore of 80. That's pretty good considering it's one of the first (exclusive) "AAA" titles coming out for the new console)

Yeah, you need to correct that. The Ace Attorney series is one of the best series of games available on the regular DS, besides perhaps the Dragon Quest ports and the Castlevania series.

I just want a TWEWY sequel for the 3DS. I would pay any price for that.
