I know this may sound n00bish of me...because I am quite new to the 3ds hacking scene
but...how do you update the nand-emulate on the mt-card?
I already did the backup nand step, but whenever I go to the system settings, it doesn't show "MT3D" before the version number
I have version 4.4.0-10U
plus I did the first step in the video it showed online too, but it still didn't come out as MT3D 4.4.0
and I also updated the MT card itself through the micro-usb and such before I did this all
so any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

You look like you don't know anything at all.

For your sake please backup your nand first before doing anything related to emunand/nand-emulate.

I don't own a MT card so I can't really help you there but please do a nand backup first. You do not want to update your 3ds without means of a downgrade.

- Be sure you are on EmuNAND (do visual changes between your real NAND and EmuNAND, like icon positions, different folder's name etc.). Don't use emuNAND classic, even if nobody tested it, better being safe.
- Go to settings > Network
- Setup your Wifi and save
- Reboot the 3DS to ensure you correctly relaunched into EmuNAND (if you don't reboot, you could update your realNAND instead, as editing Wifi settings on emuNAND also affect RealNAND!)
- Go to settings > update > accept the update > wait for download > done.
- Go to realNAND settings > disable Wifi, or change the settings, or always remember to disable wifi switch while in realNAND.

I don't know if MT-Card did the same thing than Gateway, but with Gateway 3DS when you enter the settings on EmuNAND, you see "GW3D" added to the System menu version. It's an additional check to be sure you are updating EmuNAND.

Do NOT update from eshop prompt, always go into the settings!
Attention, if you go into the settings and exit the settings, you are no longer on EmuNAND. Exiting the settings reboot the console.

Additional informations:
If you buy games on eShop, they will appear on both RealNAND and EmuNAND, but will only work on EmuNAND.
Downloaded Game updates works on both RealNAND and EmuNAND.
If you go to RealNAND > Setting > Additional data, it will delete all your emuNAND downloads, you'll have to download them again.

Check the FAQs for more informations.
It's written for Gateway cards, but most of the informations are similar.

It's MT3D for MT-Card:

Any idea for the cheapest place to get the MT-card?
They cost everywhere about 75$. Do you want to import them from china?
I can suggest BestR4i3DS.com and 4coolday.com.
Eachmall.me sells them for 60$ and users of the community reported that you can use them, but I personally have no experience with them.
/edit I heared that they have very long shipping times.

Why is there no front-page news about the 1.1 release?

What encrypting method uses ? can we decrypt it like gateway launchers ?
Yeah. But shouldn't you know these things if you want to decrypt it?

By the way: I might have discovered a bug.
After saving, I had twice the "Gamecard got removed" bug which exits EmuNAND. In addition to that, there seems a incompatibility to some of the old saves.

idk as i don't have a MT card, but i seen someone say they have switched over to gateway style saving....I'm not sure if they mean using the gameid as the file name for the save....that's just what i took from the comment  if that is the case, maybe renaming your old save to match how gateway names saves it might show up

Yeah, they switched to GW but from the file type, not the name. You still have to rename the GW saves.

Do we have any proof that the mt-card update does not contain gateways bricking code? I'm considering using their firmware for emunand, but I don't want to risk bricking my 3ds.

Until now no one got bricked. That's the only proof.

We needed until late january to find out that GW 2.0B2 really can brick your 3DS. Don't expect something that soon.

well i'm hoping with the smaller file size they may have stripped it out completely, but who knows, atm i don't think there is too many users with MT-card so if there is any issues it could take longer to surface than with gateway

Considering the fact they've clearly added a lot of their own code, I'd say it's likely that if there were bricking code in the Gateway build they used, they've likely removed it.
