Hardware Can anyone check my PC components cart?

The PC will be used averagely for video editing, gaming, programming, and stuff. I don't need a super computer but I don't want a slow one either.

Here's my cart so far:

Is there anything I'm missing? Should I add or remove or replace anything? This is my first attempt in building a PC so can anyone double-check if i have enough PCI or if the power supply is good enough or any size issue. Thanks in advance!

If you want to seriously edit some video's, I recommend a second HDD. I would also suggest to remove the wireless adapter, and get something like this instead if it's possible. I don't know if you have stable Wi-Fi, but I use a powerline from my 'parent's router' to my own router. This is much better for me, since their router has a really bad range and speed.

As for the CPU, I recommend Intel over AMD, but it doesn't matter that much.

I also never heard of HIS, but it seems that it's a modified AMD Radeon HD 7850. I had some troubles with AMD video cards, and think that NVidia ones have better support. But again, that's your own choice

Your case has support for 2x USB 3.0, and 2x USB 2.0, while your motherboard has support for 4x USB 3.0.

Other than that it seems pretty good. I'm not the type who knows an awful lot about giving advice on building your own PC, but I did modify my own a lot of times. However, modifying and building a PC from scratch are pretty different things.

I don't really need to edit videos that often, just sometimes. I don't think I need a second HDD. I even already have an external 1TB.

For the wireless adapter, my Wi-Fi is pretty stable and I've never used a Powerline before. Besides, that's way more expensive than wireless adapter.

I considered Intel Core i5 4670 and it has 3.4-3.8ghz and 4 cores. The AMD one has 3.5ghz but it can be overclocked. The AMD is way cheaper too. Another AMD I considered was FX-8350 which has 4.0ghz and can be overclocked to go way more than that. But the i5 still performs better single core. Both AMDs have 8 cores.

I'm conflicted for the GPU too. I chose Gigabyte GeForce GTX650 before but then I read that the AMD Radeon HD 7850 is way better so I changed it. But some people also said that the GTX650 is better so I don't know. I chose the HD 7850 because someone said it's cooler and quiter.

I'll re-check if I can get a better case within my budget.

Thanks for the advice. I'm getting tired from looking at and comparing all these different components.

The 8350 iirc is just an overclocked 8320
And the 8320 is just a 6300 with more cores and a bigger power consumption

If it was me I'd just go with a 6300, it's a great CPU and it's pretty overclockable, but it's your call but if you can afford it go with the 8350. Also a side note I think only 990FX motherboards support the 8350, I'm not too sure about that but definitely look into what CPUs your Motherboard supports.

Also you say you want to overclock but I don't see any aftermarket cooler, the stock fans aren't that great with overclocking. The Cooler Master Hyper T4 is great, and you should go with a 990FX board since they're the best to overclock with. Avoid MSI motherboards no matter what. The Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 is what I recommend

And as for GPU, the 7850 is better than the 650 so no need to change that. But if you can afford it get a R9 270 (or a 270X which is even better), MSI makes great cards and their TwinFrozr IV cooling designs are really damn good.

You should stay with 8GB, it's pretty much standard more so if you're doing video editing.

so tl;dr

CPU & MoBo - If you really want to get an 8350 and overclock get a 990FX motheboard and an aftermarket CPU cooler, the ones I listed I really good.

GPU: R9 270 or 270X are the better GPUs. MSI makes great cards.

If I get a 6300 do I still have to get an aftermarket CPU cooler? What if I get the 8350 but I don't overclock it?

I'll definitely consider it if I can work out the budget.

I wouldn't overclock on that motherboard anyway. FX draws a lot of power when overclocked past a certain clock speed (IIRC 4.2 GHz), and you want high quality motherboard to do so.

This seems to get more and more pricey. I guess it is a good idea to drop the FX for now. The 4.0ghz and 8 cores are really tempting despite I only have a rough idea what they do (more ghz can run faster, more cores can run more different programs at the same time) and how do I really need it.

My current laptop has Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz × 8 and I don't really have any major problem with it. Maybe I should get cheaper/weaker parts now and replace them in the future as I see fit, starting with the motherboard then CPU then GPU, I presume?

Desktop CPU these days make small incremental performance increase. You can buy FX now and hold on to it for 4+ years. Because you are budget minded I suggest you forget about overclocking, Intel and AMD.

What CPU is good then? The other guy mentioned FX-6300, which I found one with 3.5ghz and 6 cores. It is a lot cheaper than the FX-8350 and uses lower power supply. Do you think I really need the R9 270X than the HD 7850?

I'd take FX-63xx. For gaming not much difference between this and 83xx series.

R9 270X is a faster card. What screen resolution are you using right now?

Well, none. I don't have a monitor yet alone a desktop. I don't really care about resolution now as I've been using this laptop with 15.6" 1366x768 for 4 years now

Any modern monitor would be an improvement I guess.

Well for resolution below 1920 x 1080, HD7850 is sufficient.

But now I'm having a problem as the site I originally thought of buying from apparently doesn't ship to my country (although it was listed) and I can't understand their customer support. Do you know any site that ships internationally? I'm currently looking through conrad.com but its a lot more expensive.
