Yes, my guess is that the chance of bricking for Gateway users is low, but most people aren't comfortable with any chance of bricking. I'm not gonna risk it, but then again I have plenty of pre-5.0 games that I can play.
Um... if you're using Gateway, that means you're a pirate. So just pirate Four Swords?

i'm new to this forum so first i would like to say hello, and now i would like to ask for some advice.
i have managed to block my r4i-gold v4.5 3ds card, i forgot to update the card before using i (i hadnt used it for a while). i have tried to update to the newest kernal v1.69 from r4i-gold.eu. this worked on my ndsl but not on my 3ds. i then noticed a firmware upgrade which i applied now the card does not work on the ndsl (i get a white screen). any suggestions on what i can try next.

Would people stop flippin out? I went with 2.0b1 for about 10 minutes and then got tired of not having region free. I've updated to b2 and haven't looked back. Every now and then, it may freeze while booting into GW mode, but it works fine. Gateway made clear that you only have to worry about a brick if you're using a modified launcher. Do some whippits and relax
Out of curiosity, how long has it been since your upgrade? Do you use your 3DS often? I only used 2.0b2 for a couple days before I put my XL in a drawer for a while once I heard the news on bricks.
I've been using it off and on quite alot, testing out games. Had it since jan 25.
I'm trying to sell the Gateway blue card, so I'm trying to set it up. I downloaded the latest(?) R4 firmware, but it doesn't want to work. I suppose I could just go with the gateway bluecard files. Anyone know what fw will work on it?
thats right but maybe after the 2.0 release ( talking about a year) they will MAYBE release and modified 7.x patchs (but i think the wont do that cuz there 'market' is 4.5 3dses not 7.0 3dses
Also trying to setup Moonshell on it, also alot of versions. All the ones I've tried haven't worked. I know this isn't the R4/Moonshell thread, but it's the Gateway card we're talking about, so I think it applies.

the card its self will never support anything over 6.1, its not upgradable, just a cheap $3 r4 clone

I tried that, it still looks like the gateway interface. Am I supposed to run the gateway one first and then replace it, or download the latest wood, or something? Also it looks like it's based on the AKAIO.
Hmm, I am having issues with Fire Emblem, but right at the end. After finishing the final boss, it goes into the credits and you get the "ending" for each char. When Viron's story come up, the top screen turns black and the bottom screen displays the Nintendo error asking you to hold down power button.
Does anyone else have this issue?

I have a 3DSXL completly actualized (and i will keep actualizing) so i have to know which flashcard works better to load DS games, also which is better at price and service.
