Ive asked 5 people so far and 3 havnt responded, 1 said it was on 7.1 even though it said compatible with gateway under the listing, and the other bascially wouldnt tell me and told me to buy it to find out, probably also 7.1

jdcauctions told me the rest of his 3DS XLs were serial SW10s. You should ask him to make sure. I don't know about the Red/Black ones. Most likely the same.

Bought it for $168 too. $189 now.

I picked mine up on ebay as well. Blue/black XL, brand new sealed. The seller didn't realize what he had I guess, and one of the pictures on the listing showed the back of the box, so I could see the 2012 copyright date. I sent him a msg to ask about the serial and it was SW12xxxx. Cost was $179 w/free shipping. Not bad... saved a few bucks and the hassle of looking around in stores for old serials. Be careful because some sellers who DO know what they have tend to jack the price up to $250+

Hello, I want to buy a 3DS Ice White but I'm not sure about the firmware :c it is japanese imported, I will buy it from Amazon.co.jp. Anyone knows about this version of the Nintendo 3DS? I have read the 46 pages and found nothing :c

I just went to Kmart and found 4 red/black 3ds xl one with serial # SW11xxxxxx and the remaining three with serial # SW12xxxxxx. I have read a few pages back and saw that all SW12xxxx have been confirmed anywhere from 4.1 to 4.5. I was not able to find anyone post anything about SW11xxxxx but since its before SW12 I think it should also be anywhere from 4.1 to 4.5. I would like to know if you guys think any of those four 3ds XL have a high probability of being anywhere from 4.1 to 4.5 ?

Found a store that has some 3DS and 3DS XL consoles with firmware version 4.5 and lower! It's a store in europe but they deliver worldwide!

My local bestbuy had about 10 with firmware under SW127xx. Kmart had about 3. Definitely wouldn't hurt to go check them out. Specially Bestbuy since they allow open box returns and the also price match Amazon and Target sales.

Also got a Japanese Ice White 3DS with ver 4.3.0-10J of craigslist.

I messaged him 3 days ago and no response
some else bought the last one a few hours ago so too late now, i'll keep looking around
its gonna cost about $40 more if I buy a confirmed 4.5 xl on ebay then if I just buy one in the store right now
