I think gbatemp needs a gagging order on everyone ATM, the ranting and grumbling from all sides are making it impossible to find out any new info for anyone, so here is a poll that will allow you to express your opinion without all the arguing name calling and BS theories and BS "facts" that are spreading like wildfire,

Feel free to vote in the Poll I'm sure there will be an option to suit everyone's opinions, please let's vote and move on, I don't want to see any posts in this thread except for pure 100% NEW SOLID INFO, no "corrupt SD card" might or could do this, no clones caused the war, no the brick code was actually sent by Nintendo,no your a shill, basically nothing you have read thus far from whatever posts you have been reading, I want a place where I can find out actual facts not just "well a respected member said this but I cba proving it".

Hopefully people can put their egos and opinions into the form of a vote, not a 27 page thread

While Gateway is indeed scum for programming and maliciously installing trojans on innocent users devices, I also voted open-source because that's the best thing for the scene at the moment. It would render all flash carts obsolete if everyone could install their own custom firmware (a la PSP).

Open source. Then people can view the code, change it and improve upon it.
Make it GPL even so that if a clone cart comes out with new features, they have to release their changes to the source too. Everybody wins.

I love OS but flash cart makers can't really be forced to follow the GPL or even acknowledge that they used the OS codebase.

I want an option that says:

I don't care, as long as my GW works as it's supposed to work, all threads about this should be blocked, so people could in fact use this as a forum for useful contributions, instead of 10's of threads that are pretty much the same thing, including this one.

Open source is the best option here. That said IMO Gateway are justified in attempting to prevent copying but NOT in deliberately breaking people's property.

Well I mean, that'd be the most ideal thing for us, but I'm sure even a non-copyleft license like the MIT/X11 license or Apache would be nice too.
