Hacking R4i Gold Deluxe 3DS - 3DS setup not working

Hi,

I have an R4i Gold 3ds, when I put the Wood R4 1.64 firmware on the Grey card and tell it to install the hack, it seems to go OK. It verifies and then tells me to press home button to go back to the 3DS Menu screen. I do this and then proceed to launch Settings/Other/Profile/DS Profile, and it just brings me to the DS Profile where I can adjust Message/Color Settings. I have the Launcher.Dat on my SD card, version 3.3b. I also tried older versions as well and they do not work either. My 3DS is on version 4.5. What step did I miss? Its almost as if it never installed the hack in DS mode......

Careful with the 3.3 Launcher.DAT, it might brick your 3DS.

Try formatting your microSD and copying the files onto it again.

Thanks for the warning, i formatted the MicroSD card and reloaded the files onto it. I ran it again and it still only brings me to the DS Profile screen letting me adjust the Message and Color settings....i also as a precaution formatted the SD card as well and put launcher.dat on there, still no luck...

is ok to use 3.3b firmware is same first one it's only rename it but watch-out from other firmware it could brick you 3DS

Doesn't that increase the chances to brick the unit?

After 3DS setup and going back to home menu, pull the R4i card out and restart. Then try the profile mode. Dont know if it works but worth the try.

When I couldn't reinstall the exploit, I just did a system format, all was good after that.

I think you have to pull out your SD when install Wood.
After return to homescreen, put it in. The confirmation to install the launcher should appear.

I had this issue, use the Gateway exploit installer. It's the ".nds" file that comes with their blue cart firmware. Just install the Wood firmware and drag that file to the root of your SD, then launch the program using Wood.
