In fact i never supported the GW for selling $80 pieacy cards when they actually can do much more with their hack. That's just making profit.
Actually he just did great on reversing the basic ROP payload, don't know if he done it alone or with someone else, but good job. Actually he got the requisites to hack the console.
The stupid thing is to make this public. Now everyone can access the console code, that's the problem.
Everybody can access Wii and DS code and those platforms were tremendously successful, so what's the issue here?

Please, can you guys ditch the homebrew=PiracyDeath argument? Its ridiculous.

Then it was his right to do it. Does the 3dbrew documentation state anywhere that one may not release an exploit out of it?
About homebrew, does it seem right that you'd have had to buy a chinese card to run homebrew in the future? (gateway people said they're implementing homebrew loading).
About online cheating, every past console (wii included) showed that it can be detected server-side. Nintendo banned people on Mario Kart 7 and Capcom did with MH3. On 360, as soon as you touch the firmware in any way, you get banned permanently. On a PC, you can do whatever you want but if you cheat online you will get caught.

"Merry Christmas - Have some DS mode bricker!" Sure :) If one do this properly, it works on every firmware from 4.1-4.5.

Anyway, congratulation for giving the starting shot for warez. That was the stupidest thing one ever can do. I'm out.

It's just a RAM dumper. Did your void brain fail to understand that part? You also missed the words "BETA" and "messy". Stop shitposting. Delete your account.

cool. having cheat codes only in client-side would be the best scenario, imho.

I'm not angry with anyone guys.
Yeah, Wii and DS were fully documented, but in my opinion was better for the 3DS to wait a bit more, i really don't want to see the quality of the games to fell just becouse the most have no intenction to buy them.
Also, this "simple" ram dumper actually is what was separating any good hacker from hacking the 3DS.
Well i don't to start any useless discussions about this, let's just sit and see what happens.

As for cheating... It's not just for the online features, i remind you that Nintendo is starting to sell the pokebank, to get all the old gens pokemon in X/Y. With cheats no one will ever buy it. Just an example.

I don't think this is the place to discuss morals related to rom loaders and even worst, attacking the OP for personal reasons.

There's no point on keeping stuff secret in a community, because what would be the point of this subforum? I'm glad this guy actually released something without bitching about potential piracy.

Why do people assume that piracy leads to "shovelware" and crappy games being developed? Have you guys ever seen the library of the original NES? 90% of the games were just crappily made quick money makers lol. That was way before widespread piracy.

Ok once again as i have posted before, please attempt to keep stuff posted in the few relevant threads under the 3ds section about hacking. I personally do not give two shits if you personally believe hacking is good or bad. But it seems every time progress is made towards homebrew you get a bunch of children bitching about how this ***COULD*** possibly ruin their precious pokemon game due to cheating. Lets just stop all hacking related to the 3ds because of pokemon. If you dont want to see the system hacked what are you doing in a hacking section of the forum. Then they bitch about piracy making it so video game companies will no longer push games. The Nintendo DS and Wii were both hacked to allow homebrew and both systems did great in terms of sales.

My complaining aside this looks as it could turn out very promising. Good Work.

companies don't want to develop for a console with widespread, easy piracy. there's plenty of debate about how much piracy actually affects sales, etc, but it still makes them nervous since the general assumption is that lots of piracy = lost money.

This thread proves otherwise; piracy is not a detriment to sales nor leads to the cessation of game development

http://gbatemp.net/threads/piracy-common-myths.344858/

Piracy kills game systems.
There is no correlation between systems that fail (or succeed) and piracy. Multiple systems have failed terribly without any piracy in their lifetime (Virtual Boy, N-Gage, CD-i), while other systems that had piracy enabled for the majority of their lifetime ended up being some of the top sellers of their generation (PS1, Wii, GBA, DS, etc.)

This holds true for games as well, for example the PS3 was the last console of the 7th generation to be hacked (and patched the hacks quickly and recent models are unhackable), yet it sold many less games than the Wii, which was the first to be hacked (and does not patch hacks quickly, and still has hackable models being sold).

Case in point, people are whiny about piracy and need to leave this thread. Piracy never has killed a game system or its games in all history of gaming.

I understand the assumption but no development or shitty development = lost money also lol. I buy way more games than I pirate if I actually think the games are worth it. I think the ease of accessing games (Steam, eShop, etc) has really slowed piracy down.

The PS2 got piracy-enabled pretty much from day one with the swap method, and still it's the best selling console of all time. DS was hacked in a year, with (expensive) slot 2 cards coming out, piracy has always been rampant at least since slot 1 cards, and it's the second best selling console ever. Both have massive game libraries.

keep in mind, developing for the ds was pretty cheap. it's easier to take the risk in that case. the 3ds is closer to a "real" console(in terms of features) and costs more to develop for. it's not exactly an even comparison.

Piracy still hasn't killed any single console, so.....and it isn't going to cause a cessation of development. I'd suggest reading the thread about piracy myths.

how slow are you? it doesn't need to kill the console to stop games from being made that otherwise would've been. keep screaming about something i'm not even mentioning, though.

The "low quality "argument holds no value to me because one of the best games on the Wii, Xenoblade chronicles, came out toward the end of the wii's lifespan, long after widespread piracy was available to any half competent person who owned an SD card.
