Are you sure? Because i saw some posts regarding GW 2.0 with fw 7.0 having problems playing games which requires SDK 5.0.x?
To further clarify on his point... Yes, you're right. There are some problems with that.
But Gateway luckily doesn't need emuNAND at all to play those games, so the problem can be resolved by not using emuNAND.

Because you should totally just let hackers loose on your online ecosystem. Sony and Microsoft do just that, right?
How is that letting hackers loose in their online ecosystem? That statement makes no sense at all; first people who use flash cards are not hackers (to call them them so is a insult to actual hackers) and secondly someone using a flashcart would only have the exact same access to the eshop as everyone else. a case could be made for nintendo not wanting flashcard users to be able to play their games online as thats something completely different.
And for the record, plenty of people (who aren't me) have their 360s flashed and still have full use of MS's online market place; those same people regularly buy things from their shop. Also I believe you can use this fairly new Cobra ODE on the ps3 and still retain full online access (but I'm not 100% sure on that one).

I never bothered with emuand. What the big deal with it. I just slapped the 2.01b launcher on my SD and I can play every rom. zero issues.

It Does not "contain" emuNAND. It's optional to follow those steps and format your SD for it. You don't need emuNAND to play roms.

Yeah there is a lot of confusion about this. If you use Gateway 2.0 you are NOT automatically using emunand. You have to set it up separately. It adds NO extra rom compatibility that you don't have by just running regular Gateway mode. All the game patches are built into the launcher and work regardless of emunand or not.

You made it sound like all you did was put the launcher on the SD card and magically expected your roms to work. I misunderstood you.

You still have to load the contents from the bluecart. There is no confusion on how emuNAND works. The option to back up emuNAND and format emuNAND is completely optional.

Your argument does not really imply anything about your discussion point. There's zero link between "You still have to load the contents from the bluecart" and "2.01b is the firmware that contains emuNAND" from purely a discussion standpoint.

Yep; I don't see what all the confusion is about.
As an aside; I'm very surprised the gateway team hasn't released even just a few words about the 7.0 firmware and it's and it's effects on the newest gateway software itself.

The Region Free hack doesn't work on EmuNAND 7.0... Maybe that's what's wrong?
And no, there is no good way to get EmuNAND 6.3 anymore if you didn't make a backup of it...

i dont want to update the system NAND by mistake. do i update the emuNAND to 7.0 the same way i did with 6.3

As someone had suggested, it is very useful to have sysNAND and emuNAND to be on different languages so you will easily know which mode you are in. I have sysNANd on spanish and emuNAND on english. The only time I need to look at the spanish interface is when I navigate to the DS profile.
