It is true, right now it's under maintenance, but when he said I checked out and it wasn't.
Also he said e-shop was under maintenance over 9 hours, which wasn't the case with american e-shop.
Well, regardless of whether it blocks emunand, which I doubt it will, it will very likely stop the GW mode patches working. So I would definitely recommend backing up the emunand image or just not updating till Gateway team releases an update.
The eShop is down for maintenance for like 9 more hours. Wait at least until it's back up again before drawing conclusions

there is no harm, unless nintendo silently tracks if you are installing on a redirected nand and bans you, but we would all be surprised.
or yes, backing up the unallocated partition on the sd card etc, but that is more work.

If it is what most people seem to think it is it will add Miiverse support and NNIDs.It'll most likely be a useless update that does nothing as usual right bro

well, to do that, the system would have to behave in a different way than expected. unless they made it work like this with 6.3, if this thing is in 7.0 it can't possibly do it before 7.0 gets installed.
This entire thread is useless though. Why not just... I don't know... wait until Gateway says something? Lol. They made the firmware and they will definitely do an analysis to let us know so everybody needs to relax.
