I'm talking about point of registration though - Name, email address, DoB, etc. If you registered with your real name and they want to use that instead of a username now, you've got no room to complain that they're using your real name. They've had it since you registered. You had the option to say that your name is "Joe Shmoe" when you registered.
If they want to use my real name (which they are), then they can use my real name. I don't give a fuck, I'm not the only "Nick Riddle" in the world, I don't comment on YT unless it's something specifically about the video, usually a critique or constructive criticism or praise, and I also still just don't care.
Edit - to further prove my point, Google has access to my (Android) phone, my Gmail account, my G+ (which goes largely unused), my YT that I seldom do much with other than browse videos, my search history, and my primary browser on my computer.
If I was that concerned with Google having my name, I wouldn't be using their products in the first place.
