I have 2 1TB toshiba USB drives, both are WBFS, and are basically mirror images of each other about 60% usage. I have two wii's both with the same Ciso's installed the very same way as the other.

now one of these hdd's works great on both Wii's. one hangs CFG USBLoader at startup, no error, no message, just hangs on the splash screen with 249 in the bottom right, on both systems. loading the drive into the backup manager on my pc, works like normal, it reads and displays the long list of games that are on the drive and acts like there is nothing wrong. now its worth mentioning that both of these drives **have worked. and only recently has this one given me problems.

in my efforts to correct the issue i have destroyed the drives partitions, (only has the one WBFS) reformatted it and recopied all 262 freakin games from the working drive back to the problematic one, only have the same issue unchanged.. so i figured maybe i just got a dud drive that has for one reason or another become unusable as a backup drive for the wii. fine, i can deal with that..

i just happen to have yet another 1tb USB drive (its really just a notebook HDD in a enclosure) that i had been using to transfer files between my computers because that is faster then my network. i backuped all the data on it formatted it to WBFS, copied all the games yet again (this takes like 10 freaking hours btw) from the working drive via backup manager only to have this third drive give me the same trouble as the other non working drive? how can this be!?! are my wii systems some how locked to this one working hdd?

the only common denominator is that i always copy the games from the working drive. both of the drives that do not work have had their partitions blown out down to raw space and WBFS partitions made on them first thing after assigning a drive letter to do so, they have been slow formatted (thats like another 5 hours each) i am at a total loss i do not understand how this issue can persist across two wii's two hdd's and days worth of time trying to correct it

i'm open to just about any ideas here, please help.

Stop using WBFS - it's an obsolete filesystem that was a necessary evil until FAT32 support was introduced. Start from switching to FAT32.
