I have filled all 15 boxes with charmanders, after 20 hours of breeding.....not a single shiny. I have to release them all, and start over.... Why are there so few boxes in this game? My SS has almost 30
1. There are 31 boxes in the game... should be plenty enough.
2. Don't release them, wondertrade them all away. Even if you get crap in return you also get pokemiles from it which in turn you can exchange in Limiose Pokecenter (or Pokemon-GL for half the price if you sync your game) for stuff like Rare Candies etc.

Do you even realize how long it would take to wondertrade my current 450+ charmanders?
I have already put over 20 hours in to get this far, once (if) I get my shiny.... I'm done, the rest are gone.

I've been using the fishing chain method over the past couple of days and have gotten 4 shinies off it. It definitely works, and if it isn't working for you as it is with tons of other people then you are doing something to screw it up. Keep in mind things that will break your chain: moving (even slightly), reeling in too slowly or when you haven't hooked anything, and not getting an encounter ("Nothing seems to be biting..."). If you're having trouble keeping the encounters up, get a pokemon with the ability suction cups and put it as your lead. I use an octillery, and it doesn't matter if it's dead or not. Also remember that the length of the chain until you get a shiny varies and is luck based. My first shiny was on a chain of 104, my others were 17, 20, and 8.

Currently I'm trying to breed a shiny litwick for my girlfriend with no luck. :(

Just got a shiny Marill from masuda's method while trying to breed a Adamant Marill with Huge Power (7th egg). So far I these are my shinies, Dunsparce (traded away to a friend of my who loves dunsparce), Dragalge, Breloom and the Marill. When I was trying to get a shiny eevee, I had around 3 1/2 boxes full of eevee's, no shiny, trying to get a normal Marill, shiny.

Hmm. Chain Fishing doesn't seem to work for me. I'm in the right spot, not moving, just casting the fishing pole. I've gotten streaks up to 216, and just given up. Masuda method and Friend Safari are more reliable.

I had a 106 chain and nothing followed by a 50 chain and nothing. Then I went to the fisherman on 16 and got the dive balls. After that I got one after 70 or so... I might just be unlucky but the fisherman might be mandatory first. I have no idea.

I did the chain before receive the Superrod or even talk to the fisherman.

Nothing. But the chances of getting a shiny that way are still kinda low (1/1365). I'm at over 800 eggs so you can't really complain about your number.
