...or if there is any other reason for me not to buy a controller to test this out? Thanks!

Can't say about how they work in PJ64 at the moment, but on reason not to buy one of these controllers is if you don't have a Wii U since there is an issue that some people run into that is resolved when you sync the controller to a Wii U.

Just the other day I was really upset because I couldn't find an app that would let me use my Gamecube controller with my PC that is connected through an adapter which makes it act like a classic controller. And then I just was lurking on the forums as I do and fell upon this and next thing I know I have my Pro controller and Gamecube controller both working with joysticks flawlessly! Thanks mate!

That's cool, glad it's working for you. What adapter are you using?

Ummm...so never mind about my problem. Oddly enough, just like Fluto, mine just started working. Might want to look into it still, but I couldn't tell you how to reproduce it. Thanks for the work you put into this.

Well glad it's working at least. Hopefully some issues will resolve themselves when I start using a newer version of .Net, but refresh my memory if you would, are both of you using Windows 7 or 8?

Windows 7 64bit. And actually I'm back to having issues. I think they are with vJoy though. I was messing around in the registry and deleted something I shouldn't have. My vJoy mappings would work (after a system restart every time I changed something in the vJoy config), but the device wouldn't appear in the Game Controller settings screen. I did a system restore to fix my registry, but now I'm back to being unable to map my joystick axes. :glare: So in breaking something, I might have fixed something else, but I think I'm better off being in the place I am now...without a broken registry.

Though between doing those things, I did do a massive Windows update, so maybe that was actually what fixed it, and I'll be back once again to say "never mind!" once I reinstall the update. *fingers crossed*

I think this looks great, but I'm not too savvy on this sort of things and I heard that some of these controllers don't go in all directions. I've read the last few pages, but could anyone tell me if the analog stick will work properly (for Project64 on Windows 8 64-bit) or if there is any other reason for me not to buy a controller to test this out? Thanks!
I looked through that thread, and apparently the guy who made it was the only one with a problem. For everyone else, the controller worked fine. The WUPC also works just fine, unless you have the same problem as that guy. :P

As for other reasons... It doesn't have analogue triggers, but this doesn't matter for Pj64. Otherwise, it's my all-time favorite controller, and I definitely advise you to get it. I've been using it with pj64 myself, and my only comment is the joystick placement (which is otherwise one of my favorite parts of the controller): the main (L) stick is above the D-pad (unlike an N64 controller), while the R-stick (which you will probably use as the C-buttons) is above the ABXY buttons (unlike a GC controller), so if you've used one of these (GC or N64) before it might feel unusual.

Also, in the thread you linked to, the guy who had that problem didn't even know about joystick X and Y axes, so I don't think you need to be afraid of having a similar issue and not being able to fix it.

Thanks for replying! I went ahead and bought one anyway, and it worked excellent. Only problem I encountered was that WiinUPro wouldn't find the joystick buttons to map, but that worked after rebooting. Right now I'm testing out Donkey Kong 64 and trying to figure out what setup to use. Great program, thanks!

Hi
Have installed WiinUPro, Toshiba Stack Bluetooth and vJoy and am having problems. I have Windows 8 x64 and managed to install WiinUPro and Toshiba fairly easily, my Pro Controller syncs up and works in WiinUPro. However I'm having problems with vJoy - I had initial problems installing it but managed to do it by restarting Windows without installing drivers (or whatever it's called, using F7). The first time I tried to calibrate it in the HID settings in Devices And Printers the only button that would work is the B button, all the others caused the Windows 'error' sound, when I got to rotating the left stick it would toggle the little box on/off and occasionally flash the X and Y axis - no curser rotating would come up though. I tried restarting my PC and when trying to calibrate it again vJoy didn't even appear on the HID controller settings!
Also whenever I try to adjust the vJoy settings it always reverts back to the default.
Have I installed it wrong or is it a compatibility issue?
Thanks and sorry if I'm a little vague, trying to remember what I did 3 hours ago

Hello,

I'm a Win 8 user too. I had similar issues like you when calibrating the controller on Windows. Don't use the Windows calibration. Ignore that portion, cause it's going to act funny until vJoy updates to fully support Win 8.

If your controller works how it should on Beta 7 (current release) of WiinUPro, then, don't worry about anything else. I'd also recommend for you to set your controller on vJoy on Device 1 and up, and delete Device 0. I had a lot of issues when dealing with Device 0, which disappeared once I configured Device 1.

Hope this helps.

Hey, I went to my registry and changed the VID_1234&PID_BEAD I found under CURRENT_USER ( there where none under controller set 001 or 002 ). Followed the video guide and set up vJoy as shown with Hat Switches set to Continuous and POV's set to 1. My issue is that in WiinUPro under Input Type > Joystick POV Hat I am unable to choose. I get a blank space...if I accept the mapping is set to POV 1 Up. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

I keep getting these errors. Is there any way to fix this?
This comes up when you have no compatible devices - i.e. WUPCs or wiimotes - connected (as might be expected =P). Are you sure that you do have a device connected? Are you using the Toshiba bluetooth stack and all that? If yes, then some people have had an issue when the controller automatically disconnects after a few seconds. Is your WUPC icon in the bluetooth device manager window showing the green and yellow wire icon (showing that it's connected), without it disappearing after a few seconds?
So what do I do if I have this error... BUT....
-Toshiba stack installed
-WU Pro connected and paired
-Beta 7 on the drive, and yet it looks like Senou's post.

Edit 1: Looked back at Page 11. Mashing method don't work. Setting it up as using COm port 40 didn't work either. Connecting the controller after opening the program crashes it:

I take it that your WUPC disconnects, seeing as you have tried the button mashing fix. If that's the case, there are several other workarounds; try connecting your controller to a WiiU, then connecting to your PC.

Now I need help... My 30 day period is drawing to an end (even though I installed the stack a while ago, I changed computers in the meantime, so this is the first time I have to reinstall it). I have uninstalled my bluetooth devices through the device manager, checking the "Delete driver files" option as well, yet after rebooting then reinstalling the stack it still says that I have about 5 days left.

Not only that, but it seems to get stuck on a certain number of days sometimes... When I first installed it, it told me I had 30 days left for almost a week. And now it's stuck at 5.

However, all of this wouldn't be a problem (or at least, not until the 5 days run out), except that on top of all that, I can't connect anything.
First, it would search/wait for devices for ages, then tell me it didn't find anything. I reinstalled it (since I had only a few days left anyway), without checking "delete driver files". The trial time didn't reset itself, however at least bluetooth itself got working for a couple of days.
Now it has stopped working again, same as before. Reinstalling it a second time (this time, deleting the drivers) again didn't reset the trial period (as I said above), but on top of that, it now doesn't seem to search at all - it just tells me that the connection has been reset immediately.

Am I going something wrong?

EDIT: I ran the test under bluetooth > Options > Diagnostics, and the first test (Check communication with Bluetooth device) is failing. Here are the details:
Code:
Check communication with Bluetooth device
Address: 24:FD:52:81:B0:28
HCI version: 07.1102
LMP version: 06
FW version: 4354
License Status: -2
Bluetooth device is working.
--- END ---

(I know it's weird that it says "Bt device working" while the test status is "failed", but that's what it's showing me.)

Edite 2: So I went the brute force way, deleting the whole Toshiba folder in Programfiles(x86) by hand, and killing every related process through task manager (after uninstalling the BT device, obviously). After several reboots and a seemingly complete eradication of every toshiba-related file, somehow TofsRCOMM (or something similar, whatever it's called, which is also present in the normal installation of the stack) popped up in my bluetooth devices. Weird. In any case, I uninstalled it, and after another reboot, everything seemed fine. So I installed the stack again...

...And apparently I still have 4 days remaining. -_- On the plus side, BT's working again, but that's no guarantee that it will work tomorrow. It seems to me the problems are somehow linked.

Look at #312 and page 11. A potential workaround is mentioned. You mash the face buttons when you start the program. It worked for some. But it did not work for me, and if it does not work for you, we are in the same boat sadly.
