Hacking Soldering a flashcart into a DS Lite...

I currently have a DS Lite, a DSi, and a 3DS. I also have 3 flashcards - A SuperCard DSTWO and two Acekards (2i). However, my DS Lite's SLOT1 has a bent pin, and games rarely work, though I use my DSi now for that purpose. My thought was instead of getting a new SLOT1, I could use the shell of the slot while wiring where the pins would go to the actual DS motherboard, essentially permanently installing the flashcart into my DS Lite. I want to do this because I don't use any other cartridge, and the Acekard 2i can play all the games and homebrew I want it to. Does this sound like an effective idea? Would it be just as simple as soldering wires together from pin to pin?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, there isn't really a hardware section for the Nintendo DS...

I had problems of bent pins before too. I just desoldered the bent ones and took them out, bent them back to their correct positions, push them back into their places, and soldered them back on. I think it's better to try that than soldering your flashcarts in...

That's true, and I was actually able to take tweezers and bend the pin (only one actually) back into position, but it still was finicky... I hate loose connections, and I was just thinking it might be easier and more interesting to solder in a flashcart (make my life easier!)...

I have had random problems with freezing too. I actually was playing New Super Mario Bros and it froze, but I used the debug code and it said "GAME CARD PULLED OUT" (it wasn't). But yeah, I just want a perfect, solid connection so I never have to deal with it again. The pin seems lose, like it isn't properly soldered in... I do have a triwing screwdriver, so I guess I can open it up and try, but I don't like random freezes.
