Well, I tried unscrewing the G6 Lite case and cleaning the pins. Then I put it back together and tried using the USB burner but it didn't work. So then I tried taking the innards out of the Lite case and putting it into the larger DS Phat case. When I stuck it into the USB Burner and put it into the G6 Flash the LED came on. But now I have this problem right here. I can't seem to format the disk.

Are my efforts a lost cause?

Judging from the screenshot... it seems like the internal memory of your G6 Lite went kaput... I honestly hope I'm wrong.

Similar thing happened to mine, but it seemed ok after I formatted it....though I never tried to use it again, just sent it straight back to realhotstuff.

Even the most hardened G6/M3 fanboys will have to admit to there being a major problem when you need a tuturial about the act of just inserting removing you're device from a USB connection ??? honestly do you own any other device that you need to wear silk gloves when handling the connection of you're device ? I believe not.

At least the m3-lite seems at first reports to be a good product, lets hope the tales of woe don't become the afore metioned device too.

I'm just trying to see if the damage is reversible at this point. Though from the looks of it, there doesn't seem to be much hope.

I can now confirm without a doubt that the internal memory of the G6 Lite has somehow been damaged and is beyond repair:

untitled.jpg

After running this DOS prompt and trying to format the drive through DOS, I get this message. This has convinced me that the G6 Lite has somehow suffered irreversible damage.

I will now try and get in contact with Gamersection.ca and try to get a replacement.

Thank you everyone who tried to help and those who gave me their support. I will keep you posted on what Gamersection has to say.

Sucks to hear that.

I've also experienced some problem with my G6 Lite in the beginning. Excluding all the set up kraps I had to go through for my G6 Lite, I've had one major corruption that I had to reformat the whole cart. Now I only get rare occasional freezes for some games.

Seriously, people should think twice before buying these stuff.

Wow that sucks if the internal mem crapped out on you. Mine's still running perfect, and I've never had any type of problem with it.

I'll report back in another month.

A tutorial is not required, it's common sense to plug the cart into the reader before you plug the reader into your usb port.

I love my G6 lite.

Make sure you have it mounted in the case perfectly straight and that you also did not touch any of the contacts. I noticed that the freezing usually happened after i had just put a game on the card. So just make sure the screw is tight and the pcb is straight.

Hope this helps

I have 2 G6 lites and 1 regular G6 all which were purchased right away and NONE of em have problems. I was constantly playing my G6 Lite to the point where I put 6 hours a day on my kit. Never have any problems, no games mess up, from Sonic Rush, Tony Hawk, Animal Crossing, NSMB, Tetris, Phoenix Wright...the list goes on. I have NEVER had any problems at all. No corruption issues, no games not working...sad thing is I run a production company and so the kits sit in a bowl for when work is slow or there is a break people can play games.....and yet nobody here has said "Yo HC, this cart is corrupt?" But I do try to hire people who are fairly competent so that may help. Bottom line is I make sure one cart is MINE which means no touchy touchy for anyone else and right now one of the G6Lites is MY CARD. I just got in some new kits like the M3lite and everyone knows the rules, I need to test em before they can touch em but all I can say is I have had both G6 lite products at launch and never had any problems at all even under extreme playing. I did have one guy who worked for me that opened a Pepsi upside down and then decided to go on the web and boycott Pepsi saying the product was faulty....sadly I had to let him go.

I don't think that's always true. I plug in memory card reader first then insert the media card. Same with my EZ3 gba flashcart - reader first, then cart. Never had a problem.

Me and my bro bought our G6Ls together nearly two months ago and we never had any corruption, freezing or any other issue. *knocks on wood* And I wouldn't go so far to say all G6L will brake. I'm sorry that yours broke and I hope you can get a new one...

"As for everybody else, you will see more people with problems with their G6 Lites down the road. What the hell do you think happend to me? I bought a G6 Lite a month ago, and fast forward to now, which just happens to be "a little further down the road" and it's messed up."

You have no basis to make such a comment. Just because you got a faulty card does not mean that every single one ever made will mess up... honestly...
