Whomever's in charge of $ony at the moment either needs to be fired, or shot. Preferrably shot because he/she is a fucking MORON.
Honestly, if Nintendo beats out Sony in the sales race, this generation, I'll not be surprised. Also, if Nintendo pwnz0rz Sony, I'd like to see Sony go under and have Nintendo buy them out.
Furthermore, I think it's time for everyone to go and buy some shares in Sony, and pray to whatever god/gods you believe in that they make some form of a comeback.

I'm just happy I live in Canada.

Whew, I think Sony is getting more bad press on its console before its even released than the Gamecube got in its entire lifespan.

Whoever is making these kinds of decisions needs to do some research in to how much their target audience (18-24) actually makes per year. Heck, I know I wont be able to afford one, and I'm sure I'm not alone on that. If I'm gonna go HIGH DEF NEXT GEN AWESOME, I'm thinking it will be a 360.

Not going to happen, Sony is much more massive than Nintendo. There is more to Sony than just the video game department (as they forced us all to know with their damned Blu-Ray).

That being said, Sony appears to have already lost the hardcore market of the Middle East. Their dominance with PSX and PS2 is so great here that in Arabic, people call all videogame machines "Sonys". When I was bringing my Cube here, the customs official was puzzled by it until I told him it was a Sony

. Now, every single person I know wants a Wii at launch and a PS3 only when the price comes down to a MUCH more reasonable level. Also, since it isn't officially released in Saudi Arabia (as far as I know), the price is always higher here anyways. The PS2 launched for $400... imagine what they would do with the PS3! The estimated price is around $1000...

With the Wii hopefully hitting the shelves several months before Sony here, it would come as no surprise to me if Nintendo actually manages to outsell the PS3 now.

I mean, there's no doubt the ps3 will be successful, but I'm sure Sony will lose a lot of customers because of that!

Doesnt really affect me since I wasnt planning on buying a PS3 in november anyway and if I had it would of been from america..
I can see quite a few people being majorly annoyed with this news and microsoft having two christmas's without its main rival cant be good for sony lol

Wii for the win and even if thats delayed (Why wouldnt it its not like europe is a large market or nout ¬.¬...) I'll prob be purchasing it online if I dont get stung on customs i'll save quite a bit

Sony are now going to ship 2m units by the end of 2006 and 4m by the end of the fiscal year (end of March). This is about half what they said last month.

As stated above 500,000 being available for November launch, how are they going get another 1,500,000 out in a month and a half.

EDIT: £40million ad campaign shelved aswell, the day after it was launch with the "This Is Living" website.

teheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, fooools now there really gonna be in big trouble. the wii will have an almost 5 month lead, knowing the fact that the console will be cheap its probably gonna beat the ps3 to a pulp. 360's sales are already impressive, i wish sony good luck.

mmm... Mexico is getting some, SO I'm sure Canada will get their share. It will be more expensive than U.S. for sure.

bad news coming to sony i though they been had bad news, but this may actually be good news because even if i were to buy a system i know now that they will be worth alot more on ebay now.

I can just see Microsoft smiling from ear to ear. I never imagined Sony letting anyone get a one year lead on them, let alone a YEAR AND A HALF!!! Wasn't the PS2 first to market? What are they thinking?

I think a lot of people (myself included) are waiting for the PS3 release before they make their decision on PS3 vs XBOX360. I know I'll be buying a Wii, but I want a second console for the different gaming opportunities they will offer. I just can't see a Baldur's gate type game being as good on a Wii as it would be on a PS3/XBOX360.

Nintendo is a good company, but they can be just as ruthless as MS or Sony when in power. You really just have to pick the best option for you regardless of who is producing the console.

Who else thinks MS will sink the PS3 launch by introducing a price cut?
