I have both, I personally prefer the normal PSP mainly because the buttons are more comfortable to use. However the PSP go is better if you travel a lot.

Both have things that are better but I think it comes down to what games you play. I play RPGs which hardly ever use the nubstick so I love my PSP go for that and its nice that I can just put it in my pocket no problem (ever with a case on it!). If I'm playing games like GTA or anything else, then I use my PSP 3000. The PSP 3000 is the best standard model as the screen is good and it has a built in mic. It takes all the best things of the PSP 1000 and PSP 2000 then adds then together with some addditional things of its own.

So in general, if you play anything that only uses directional buttons and the triangle, circle, x, and the square, use the PSP Go! If you like games that use the nubstick, use the PSP 1, 2, or 3000.

Trust me, I know as I have had them all. I still have my PSP Go and my PSP 3000 though.

Thanks for the info your probably right I think in gonna get the PSP go then just because the games I play don't really use the nub stick like wagic and pokemon that's about it. Plus it's really portable.

I've only used a GO and a 1000, but I prefer the GO.

DS3 via bluetooth and component cables = wireless gameplay on my TV :3. But if I do take it on flights or anything when I travel, I got one of those hand-grip things to make the form-factor a little easier. I found the 1000 to cause really bad cramps if I played on that.

smaller screen isn't a big deal, the difference is the same as compare a DSL screen with a DSi one.
if you want to take it for a walk the go is much better, very slim, light and easy to grab, some people don't find it comfortable to grab but I like the clicky buttons and the dpad is better IMHO plus you can use a Dualshock 3 controller, the 16gb internal are very good but you lose the UMD drive and for aditional storage you need M2 memory cards and are very scarce nowdays, I myself struggled to get hold of a 4gb one.
the 3000 is very good overall but you can't really walk a lot with it without being a hassle, some people prefer the form factor of the 3000 for being more comfortable, I don't find it more comfortable than the go, doesn't has any form of internal storage but has UMD drive and memory stick pro duo are very easy to find or you can always get a photofast or similar adapter for use micro-sd cards.

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Hope you've had a good morning.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

I think that's why I focus on just enjoying single player experiences that aren't too competitive

    How are you doing?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
There's also this thing where I'm hyperfocused at night and cannot get to sleep.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Maximumbeans, I'm doing alright, thanks.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.

It was like all clear and fancy. Tbf I'm not too experienced with chess, but would like to learn someday.
