trench,

No idea about GBA. You can basically consider the M3 Lite DEAD-ON-ARRIVAL if they removed GBA support, as it's one of the only reasons I actually considered the M3 over the SC Lite.

As for homebrew, at this very moment, M3>SCL because of DSOrganize, the newest version of DSOrganize doesn't work on SCL (but it does work on other SC's) but that's just a matter of days. The only reason I would have preferred m3 lite is when it had a GBA shell too, and now it doesn't so I'll stick to my SCL.

Did m3 actually say the m3lite will have full gba compatiblity? I won't be suprised if they took out the gba compatibility due to the smaller cart size.

Due to the smaller cart size ? GBA a just copied in the M3's RAM, which is still present for DS Normal Boot (and Safe mode ?)
Removing it on M3 pro was a not a choice due to the size afaik, they had no problem with M3 miniSD v2
beside, I'm pretty sure I remember a mail where they said GBA feature will still be there.

Getting an M3 Lite over an SCLite, for me is just cosemetics. I want to preserve the look of the DS Lite. I don't play many GBA games, there are a few I'd like to try out, so GBA functionality isn't important. What's more important right now to me in terms of functions is homebrew, such as moonshell, and ds organize, and emulators for legacy systems. I don't think I'll go for the M3 Lite at 80$ compared to the SC Lite, 40$ difference is a lot to get the same stuff, just better looking.

How so is it better looking?

Other than the real life prototype pics and the photoshopped looking pics, I haven't seen any other pics of the m3 lite to judge how much better it may or may not look (especially no pics of it INSIDE the ds).

Unless you're so concerned about the lack of glossiness (is the m3 lite glossy?) and the front loading slot (which , true, does change the look of the ds lite but probably gonna be easier to load new stuff).

I'd prefer a side load as I've already had my 2gb Micro SD Delivered and I just know that It would fall out of a front load one day and would be immediately lost. its so small its crazy.

Its personal preference I know.

I'm also paranoid about losing the Micro SD. The SC Lite itself, I wouldn't be worried about losing, since it's not easy to take it out once it's in your DSLite (at least on my friend's, it's stuck in there

).

M3's side loading allows it to look like the GBA cover that comes with the DSLite, flat smooth surface. M3Lite is supposed to come with black and blue replacement covers as well. The SCL has a horizontal line and MicroSD hole. Many want thier cart to be as low profile as possible. I think SCLite just comes in white? Anyway, these cosmestic aspects alone probably aren't enough for most people to spend more.
Other things to consider: M3 has better GBA game compatibility (I know some people say they don't care, but GBA has tons of great titles), better built-in movie player (which from the few videos i've tried on it, seems better than moonshell dpg) and custom skins.

I don't know what i'll get, i'm still using the older M3 and SC products for now. I'm leaning toward SC since I have my old M3 if I want to play GBA, plus movie playback is not a big deal to me since PSP (especially homebrew PMP format players) does it better. Most of my DS saves are for M3, I hope I could convert them somehow.

I've been waiting to get into the DS world for awhile - sitting here reading and the M3 Lite finally made me take the plunge. It will allow me to not be restricted at 4GB and I will have excellent DS and GBA compatibility - that's why I chose it, because it works best for me.

You guys are just pissed that a newer cutting-edge product has been released and you have something a little bit older. In the grand scheme of things, if you have something that plays your games, you should be happy. If SC or G6 products play what you want, then that's awesome.

I'm just happy that now I can sell my 2 GBA SP's and my Flash-2-Advance 256 because my new M3 Lite will play everything I need. The new M3 is going to be a fantastic product and I'm certain that the quality will shine!

Is it safe to assume that it will be in english? I"m about to preorder this over the sc lite for the gba compatibility. Also, I heard that 12x microsd cards work flawlessly with the sc lite, would it be the same with the m3 lite by any chance? I have 4 512mb transflash cards (aka microsd) that came from 4 slvr phones.

Bamboo says preorder are for English version
Divineo seems to say so. ("English version ! Lastest Slim Size !")

We can assume this will indeed be the english version

According to the M3 team, M3 Lite will be the fastest M3 ever, just as SC Lite was for SCs. Since you already own TF cards, just try with them then focuse on a better card if you have problems...

im going to buy my M3 Lite from the chinesse Divineo, being from the UK it seems way cheaper than any other of the options, and ive heard its very unlikely you'l get caught up in customs.

and delivary is just about as cheap as it would be from buying within the UK. does anyone seem risks/harm doing this?

I ordered my M3CF from divineo china, I didn't paid any customs (iirc, they ship the parcel as a gift), and shipping fees were indeed cheap.

risks are you may have customs fees, and exchanging it if it's broken or defective will be slightly harder...

Yeah I can vouch for Divineo China.. They go the extra distance and put it as a gift to avoid custom charges since the return address isn't from a company name but an actual person.

Got a gamecube case cover plus a bunch of other stuff with no custom charges.. Pure awesomeness
