Maybe Nintendo should add a few more guns and strip clubs to the next animal crossing. Shake it, Mabel.

Made me laugh out loud. +1, sir.

But, to echo what others have said, although Animal Crossing is targeted at a younger audience, you can definitely play it whenever, age-wise. It's not "Counting with Elmo" or something like that.

I'm a 22 year-old Ph.D. student, and I very much enjoy playing Animal Crossing. I like how relaxed and laid back it is, and the super-lame humor and puns in the game are the best. It's just a nice game to relax to. I also have a Pikachu 3DS, though, so take that for what it's worth.

I will say, though, that none of my similar-aged friends enjoy the game, even the ones that like Nintendo. I think it just comes down to what kind of games you enjoy.

Quick tip: There are better things in life then trolling on forums.

Ontopic:
Animal Crossing is such a relaxing game, the music builds so much atmosphere.

I never really bought into the whole "Games should only be played by certain people", If you enjoy it you should play it.

Too many people confuselack of violence with 'kiddie" I would say it all depends on your view point...

No one can convince you to like something that's just 'not your style'.
I;m sure that doesn't help but it is accurate.

The gameplay is suited to both. It's just a relaxing game where you can do what you want.
A lot of adults play it, you should try one of the games, they're so much fun to play for some reason.

You already have it in the UK Pong? Lucky ducky! Are you a reviewer?

I've seen on Youtube that in the Japanese version you can't type town names any longer than 6 characters...or was it 8. So you can't physically search for towns or mayors with long names.

Is Farmville kiddie? Just because they use colorful graphics doesn't mean it's only for kids. And hell, most of the kids I know don't have patience to play a simulation game like Animal Crossing. I was only 12 when the first one came out and loved it. Being 20 now doesn't change the fact that I'm going to still play it. If you're concerned about something like that, stop being so self conscious. If Barbie dress-up and Bob the Builder games entertain you, then play em. Do what you enjoy, if other people have a negative opinion about it for silly reasons, does it really matter? Don't live your life and fit your interests into a molding that suits other people's expectations. Christ.

My take on it is this: If you have friends who play it, spring for it, because they'll probably want to visit with you. This is a series that never interested me without friends to visit or have over.
On the other hand, knowing that I have at least 4 other friends with the game right now, makes it a bit more compelling to do the single player stuff to improve my town and collect things for my character.

If you don't already have friends to visit in the game, try before you buy. Either try an older game from the series, or a demo if/when possible. I am glad that I was given the Wii/DS games for free because I lost interest after none of my friends played with me more than once. But I did get enough of a positive experience, especially out of the Wii game, to look forward to a new and better addition to the franchise.

Oh, and for what it's worth, I'm 29, one of my friends with the game is in his early 30's, and another is 26. As others have said in various ways, it's an all ages game. I'm a grown woman with grown friends and I like playing it with them.
