Already preorder ps4. I was gonna get one anyway, as there was nothing I want on Xbone. But with the announcement of KHIII and FFXV, it was done deal
it's just like E3 '95 all over again.... does anyone remember that?
Right after Sega announced the $399 price of the Saturn on his press conference, Sony does this...
They have to be losing some serious money on this though. Nintendo sells the Wii U for less than it costs to make. Also a price point like that for a new Sony console is awesome, the PS3 was so overpriced originally, they obviously learned their lesson.

No they aren't. In fact, I believe the PS3 was the only one last generation that sold at loss.I'm sure that all consoles are sold at a loss?

What do you mean by "as long"? Unless the hardware changes, the amount lost will stay the same.360 sold at a loss at launch, but not nearly as long nor as much of a loss as the PS3.
Hardware gets cheaper with time, so as they continue to produce it and sell it at the same price, their losses fall until eventually they start making money for each new unit sold. What do you mean by "as long"? Unless the hardware changes, the amount lost will stay the same.
The exact same hardware continues to stay the same price. If they switch it out for an alternative (or cut out a huge chunk like they did with the PS3), then it is less expensive.Hardware gets cheaper with time, so as they continue to produce it and sell it at the same price, their losses fall until eventually they start making money for each new unit sold.
As for the Wii U, I thought that they were taking a small loss on it this go around (though probably wouldn't take long to get back into the black on hardware), which is unusual as they typically make money on their hardware.
Then why would anybody not import one from the US? It's so much cheaper here.
