hmmm, it's the same price as a g6lite but we get a microSD slot instead of internal memory... well, if it's as good with homebrew as the SCl and as good with GBA as the G6, I guess I'll get it.

So no GBA case? That's disappointing, that was the only thing i was disappointed about from Supercard Lite, and now M3 lite too

Wow, yea.. it is kinda pricey.

$28 more than the Supercard lite, to be exact. Decision decisions...

I love the SC lite interface, because I've the M3 lite's interface is clunky and slow.

I went with the SC Lite, mainly because:

1) + $28
2) Faster interface (M3 / G6 are godawful slow)
3) Front loading SD Micro

The only thing M3 Lite has over it is the GBA support.

Most M3's are pricey.

Due to the multiple capabilities it can do.

What can it do that requires almost $30 bucks more? Play a few GBA games better? The SuperCard Lite has runs DS games perfect with even a crappy vanilla microSD and it has the instant save to microSD feature. The SuperCard Lite is much better for playing DS games while if you want near perfect GBA I would say go with the M3 Lite. The SuperCard also has a faster menu, a front loading memory slot and has better homebrew compatibility. I have never been able to see why people are willing to pay so much more for something that just plays a few GBA games better? I'm not saying it won't be a great product because it will, just not at $80 bucks good product.

So SCL is better for homebrew than M3? As far as I know they have the same compatibility. Can you tell me which app works on SC that doesn't on M3?

Much better? Come on, we didn't see the M3L's performance yet, so how can you say SCL is much better for DS games than M3L?

That's easy. Ever tried Advance Wars 2, the Metroid games or Mario Kart on SC? These are only examples for GBA games that are unplayable on SC. People who wanna play these gladly pay the more bucks and get slowdown-free GBA support. If you ask me it's worth.

Those who don't care about GBA, go for SCL. Those who care about GBA, go for M3L.

What about battery life? From most reports M3 has had better life than the SC, wonder if it's the same with the new generation of cards. And I find SC's interface really ugly compared to something slick like G6's (never tried an M3 to compare).

why complain, it's not THAT expensive... and i'd like as close as 100% compatiblity and performence as close as a real game as possible...

i wouln't have got my M3 CF if i knew that the G6 flash were some precent with the games... like those MINOR slowdowns that you nearly can't notice... i haven't heard even close as much complaining form the G6 owners than the M3 or SC owners..

so isn't those 30 extra bucks worth to have a better gaming experience?

Did m3 actually say the m3lite will have full gba compatiblity? I won't be suprised if they took out the gba compatibility due to the smaller cart size.

I had my m3 sd since december and I don't remember ever using their "cool" additional features. For that price, I would rather pick up a supercard lite AND ewin microsd from winsux for the same price.

the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now

    Interesting lol

I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)

So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.

cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb

but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding

AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that

least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling

They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great

so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously

Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol

They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
