No, were not dead. Auryn is just super busy with 3 real life jobs
and I am inserting/testing case 2 currently. We're over halfway in case 2 already.

There are couple of bugs that make it freeze in real ds, but it works
fine in emulator. That's why we haven't released patch yet. Auryn
is working on those, when he has time.

3 real life jobs? Does Auryn also have a wife? Just reminded me of this:

Is it all flashcarts that make it freeze, or just DSTWO?

It's nice to know that this is still being worked on. My absolute favorite scanlation group (Solaris SVU) seems to have recently gone under, and I would hate to have more disappointment piled on top of that as well.

It's on 2 jobs but's it enougth :P

I made a little update on the court records backup fourm but i forgot to post it here as well because not really much going on....sorry.

I am still busy but I dismiss myself from one of the 2 works i am doing but still have 3-4 months to work both.
This summer things could change then because probably free on weekends.
Anyway Mrichston is doing an amazing job and it seems we are about to conclude case 2 localization and insertion is on the way (even if slowly).
Mrichston found some control codes on the game that could be a breakthru but it needs testing and fully understanding how they work.
For the technic freaks: it involve changing the number of sections inside a spt file and maybe move half of a "too big section" to the next section or maybe to the bottom of the spt.
If this will work, it means we don't need to do any other asm hack (at least from what we know now) and should fill all the new text without problems.

I admit that i am not working on the bug of case 1 at the moment but more trying to look into those control codes so that we can fit the rest of case 2 in the game and hopefully have a solution to the space problems for the rest of the game.
Sadly it's looking like i am the only one who want or can do such work at this level because since the beginning of this project nobody really took this job in hand.
Mrichston is trying his best to make things work even if he is not really sure what he is doing most of the time but he a quick learner and believe me that (i don't want to take nothing away from other members of the team but) he the motor of this project since months and is doing really an amazing job. I take this occasion to thank him for the job is doing, without him this project would probably be half dead.

Stay tuned, we are not dead and still working on it :)

I was affraid there was a new memory limit here. What a relief. ^^
Hahahahaha Hacko is having nightmares about AAI2 :P
You have to sing along, you will see it fits perfectly.
Do you have some news about 1byte/ASCII ihack? Post in the programmimg corner, please.

@all: By the way, apart the text, you can admire the changed graphics of the cake (translated and edited) by Mrichston and that "fade out from TV" by Wellington2k.

Looks great, you don't know how happy I am to see you guys are making good progress on the patch. I hope all the technical problems get solved too.

There's still no patch which means game still doesn't work with flashcarts? Have you considered releasing it even if it works just with emulators?
It's mean the game is not complete dumbass
They did say they would release a patch in a per chapter basis last year, but decided not to because they couldn't get around the flashcard not working issue. I think since they've been making so much progress they decided just to focus in translating the game and deal with other problems later. Just to add, if they did release the patches in parts, people would start requesting fixes in the existing patches which would probably slowdown the translation progress.

In my case, I prefer playing the game in real hardware and don't mind waiting for the game. I do believe the game should be playable in a flashcard, otherwise as emulators gets more precise, odds are that the same error will show up in a emulator as well.

I'll take this opportunity to thank again everyone who have been working in this project, I hope your work will be enjoyed by several people

Sure we have considerated that as well but like i said before, it would be create a car prototype, then change the motor without running any test and go into mass production.

I don't what to talk about releases, because if i give some hint of a possible release, somebody of you guys take it as "promise" and then useless discussions of the kind "...but you said..." will start again.
I opened up my heart for you guys, you know what is going on the project and in my private life so there is not much that i will say.
I believe there are only view translations that are so "transparent" and you really get to see almost everything it's happening on daily basis and that's why maybe this project seems to take longer as usual.
I take as example Tales of tempest that just released; it took 3 years as well but you didn't notice because you didn't know it was coming.
I don't want to put it as critics or as excuses but always remember that not one full fan translations of the AA serie has ever been released till today (in my knowledge; apart the chinese versions) and everything is looking like you will probably get AAI2 before the italian/french/german and maybe even the spanish translations of AAI1!!

Hey, take all the time you need. If it's going to take another year to make it something that you're personally happy with, then we'll have to either suck it up and put up with the wait for a year, or do it ourselves if we think we can do it faster/better. I mean, I would rather patiently wait for something instead of having it rushed and come out as crap. I personally love the series and want your translation to be just as good as the already-completed games. I don't want bad memories of a horrible translation to ruin my memories of the series as a whole.

I really hope you aren't getting stressed out from all this, and I'm really happy that you guys are willing to be so open with development. I love reading on how the development for different games and stuff like this works.

Actually the German patch for AAI1 will be released this week. :D

Well, it's a Beta Version, but all the text is translated and 90% of the images as well and there are only a few minimal graphical bugs that don't affect gameplay.
